Don't be confused. Dawson had been calling him out for years with no response. Plus, Hopkins is the one that went after Pascal, not the other way around. I wonder how come he was so quick to accept a fight with Pascal but not with Dawson? Sounds like cherry pickin' to me.

If Hopkins win, wil he accept a fight with Dawson now?

rold is right...hopkins winning this fight sets boxing back 10 years, because he isn't gonna defend the title against anyone in the division...he'll make every excuse in the world to avoid the dawsons and the clouds, and instead make catchweight fights with middleweights...

that said, if hopkins lost twice to an inexperienced jermaine taylor, he can lose to pascal, who is a cut above taylor from what i see...this time hopefully for good because hopkins never wins against fighters his size with equal talent, and pascal doesn't look like he's gonna do a tarver and shoot a movie before the fight...we know hopkins is sharpening up his switchblade for this fight...all pascal has to do is be willing to match dirty blows with nard, keep his cool, use his speed, go hard to the body, and outbox him...even shotroy jones put nard on the canvas with his own tricks....

praying for the beatdown that puts nardo out to pasture so the young guns can take over...

Pascal isn't cherry picking. Hopkins is still a very dangerous opponent for someone like him, possibly more dangerous than Cloud. Note how many people on this board think Hopkins will win. Even you admitted in another post that BHop has a decent chance to win, which means you admit it's a very risky fight for Pascal to take.

And Pascal won't make big money by fighting Hopkins either - Hopkins isn't a huge draw, and he always insists on taking a very big cut of the pie, which is why the Adamek fight fell through.

Nor will he get huge credit from casual fans, who will say Hopkins was shot, if Pascal wins, or will ridicule Pascal if he loses.

Pascal just wants to have a Hall of Famer on his legacy before the old man retires. And it's a high risk-low reward fight for him, not cherry picking at all.

Plus Hopkins called Pascal out, not the other way round. BHop wanted no part of Dawson, because he doesn't like the style match-up - but he thinks he can still beat Pascal's style. That is cherry picking.

If he beats BHop and then fights someone undeserving, then you can criticise him as much as you like. But to criticise him for taking this fight is absolutely insane.

And Cloud needs to keep busy to keep himself in the picture. His activity level is appalling, considering his age.
