Floyd Mayweather was born to privilege. With a father who was a top 10 contender and an Uncle who was a world champion, it can be correctly and accurately said that Floyd Mayweather was born to boxing Royalty.

On the opposite side of the scale is Manny Pacquiao. Born and raised in the Third World, he had to quit school at Grade 3 to help feed his family. He literally had to beg for pennies in the ******s of Manila. As a teen, he sold cigarettes in the streets one cigarette stick at a time.

You would expect, given the above described childhoods, that Manny would turn into a homicidal woman beater and thief. Yet, nothing can be further from the truth. It is Floyd - high school educated boxing Royalty that he is - that has turned into a bad apple of society.

The so-called experts say that we are shaped by our environments. What Floyd and Manny have shown is that these experts are totally mistaken.

Me too......his father used him as a human shield when his wifes brother was about to open up on him for physically abusing his sister (Floyd's mother--------->a drug addict at the time).

Living in a house with 5 or 6 to a room and not getting to play with other kids as a child because you had to train after school...all that pressure to be perfect and be the future cash cow for his family.......he didn't even know how to pay his bills (what Arum said today) he was so sheltered.....like a mushroom in the dark

...when i picture priviledged, somehow that is not the image that comes to mind. I don't know about all of that, but what I do know is that floyd can't win, even if he beats pacquiao he doesn't win, pacquiao will always be number 1 in the eyes of the people. Only if he beats pacquiao as convincing as he beat hatton will people consider him the best, and in my opinion that will never happen. Pacquiao has accomplished too much, too many great fights, fought and beat almost everyone and was exciting whilst he did it. If the general public hasn't warmed to floyd yet, they never will. Unfortunately he will never lose this tag of someone who measures risk vs reward and picks his opponents, so he will be remembered as more a roy jones type than the fighters who are considered the true elite srr, srl. Pacquiao if he beats floyd enters that bracket imo.
