It was yet another example of a guy with a low fighter IQ, who fights one style, and can not adjust his style to better suit his opponent. An example of a guy who not only fights one way, but who is simply not smart enough to figure out how he should be fighting differently even if he could fight differently... An example of a guy whose style of fighting does not properly take into account his strengths and weaknesses... A guy who will stand toe to toe with an iron-chinned brawler because he feels he must prove something... Guys like this are a dime-a-dozen nowadays. It's now rare to see a guy who can "figure out" his opponent mid-fight.

As for Rios, I like him but I fear he will be dominated by the first good boxer he faces.

The Peterson bros have a lot of talent, but they don't seem to have that champion type of determination.

There are many other ways to outbox a fighter than just sticking and moving. With Anthonys jab, some head movement (something he doesn't have), and better use of distance, he could have changed the out come..

Peterson is simply not a boxer...Never was.
Yes there are other ways to win. But in this fight Peterson was basically fighting a welterweight. With such a size disadvantage I'm thinking you incorporate more boxing to negate this.

I thought he fought to impress people rather than win. He semmed more concerned with HOW he won rather than IF he won. If that makes sense.

If this was to me, maybe I'm using to much word play...

My point is, Peterson did fight his fight! He was simply out gunned. Anyone that has seen Peterson fight know he is not a moving type of fighter. When tried to be one, it didn't help. Folks have to undertsand that **** is not just atomatic. You move agaist a brawler, you win! It doesn't always work that way. Especially win a fighter is not programmed that way.

This fight was a prime example of what is wrong with weighing in a day before the fight...Rios was 161 and Peterson was 139 on fight night, maybe that's why Rios wa able to smile after being hit by the smaller man...

They always fight this style. They just can't punch so against the better fighters they are going to struggle. Then, now, and in the future. I would put them in with boxers if anything because they have talent.

It makes sense, but Dunn, he just doesn't fight like that. You see how confused he looked trying to box and move? That is just not his style. He has had way to many fight where he has ****** out a fighter, and he most likely thought this would be no different. Just like on poster said, the kid has skills, but not yet the mental, or ability to adjust. He for now only knows won way to fight, and on saturday, he fought a guy that does it better.

it's funny how perceptions raise up on issues like this

                    for one

Rios was the smarter man in there even though Peterson was thought to be the one with more dimensions and smarts in there

Rios made the proper adjustments, such as cutting the ring off while Peterson didn't.

Rios listened to his coach while Peterson ignored everything Coach Barry was trying to tell him

ay notice how Rios went from a straight right to a almost hoor right to go around the high guard and pummel Peterson?

                    that right there is smarts
