I think he got discouraged being Rios kept coming and Peterson couldn't do anything to keep him off. Every time Rios landed a shot Peterson looked as if he was in panic mode. Rios smiling at Peterson after Peterson would land shots couldn't have helped his confidence much either.

Anthony Peterson has said that once he gets hit he starts standing his ground and trading, he said that was a habit of the past but that's obviously not the case. He needs to get rid of that habit, the gameplan in the first round was good but he threw it out the window in the second round.

He didn't really fight the wrong fight. He just fought his fight. The problem was that his fight played in the hands of Rios.

And, it was more about what Rios did than what Peterson didn't do.

Its more to it than meets the eye with the way both of them fought in the Bradley and Rios fights. I have been told that Barry Hunter the trainer told them to fight that way early on in they careers so they could have a more fan friendly style which lead to bigger recognition, fights and paychecks. Well that works in building a name because good prospects are set up in fights they are supposed to win easily. Now they have gotten on the stage or close to the stage where they are facing names and good competition what was instilled in them was fighting toe-to-toe when they both should be boxing. A fighter is always gonna go back to what they feel they know best whether its good or bad. The trainer should have never done that because both brothers are boxers not in-fighters and part-time brawlers. They are confused now IMO and it will take a lot to get them out of that mentality. There are times when that style of fighting has to be done but they choose to fight that way even when its not what is best for them.

Nah Rios is too much of a man for him. He tried to box but was still getting hit at will. Rios was walking thru all his punches and peterson had no choice but to fight back.
