The UK has had a pretty competetive pool of boxers and I think saying that a boxer needs to come to the US to "prove" himself is just plain ******. As long as they are fighting a good level of competition who cares where they fight? The US is really lucky that we have Mexico right below us since "our" high level of talent is filled out to a large degree by a large number of fighters from south of the border. Without Mexico, it would be easy to call some US weight divisions "weak". For instance, I think of Barrera as a Mexican fighter who sometimes fights in the States. He is not an American fighter but a great Mexican fighter...I think I'm losing my point though...

why location is very important? It's a fact the best fighters all over the world comes to America to fight. This is the place where you know you're good when you made it. I'm sick of you Brit idots calling your fighters world champion and all that when in fact the rest of the world does not bother. You see the best Mexicans fight in America, the best Russian, the best Puerto Ricans the best Filipinos, best Latins etc come in AMerica to measure themselves. Basketball is multinational sport but do most baller play in the NBA, soccer is multi national sport but do the best soccers player are in Europe. The bottomline is to measure how good a fighter or a player is, he has to go to the best competition and in boxing it is undeniable in America.
