Am I the only one who thinks Rios' weight was a big advantage over Peterson?

Martinez beat Pavlik at his own game. I somewhat disagree with what you are saying.Comment

I see where you are going with this, Rios was walking right in and bullying Peterson on the inside. Peterson was clearly out of his element and was getting worked. He should have listened to his corner, he may have had a better chance of out-pointing Rios. Probably not though..Nobody seems to think this is relevant.. I mean it was practically like a junior welter vs. a junior middle out there, I can't help but think that was a deciding factor in the outcome of the fight. An twelve pound difference at that weight is worse than it sounds, the punches are way heavier..
Anyone?
Since both made weight, it plays a small part. Peterson basically got beat up last night and hopefully he learns a few things from it.Comment

It was a HUGE advantage in this fight. And I believe he put on 16lbs over night. Without the weight advantage he doesn't hurt Peterson and Peterson probably hurts him.Nobody seems to think this is relevant.. You talk to CungLeGEND like that ever again and I'll take a greyhound bus over to that ****hole state and plunger fuck you like a roided out cop.
To answer your question though. No of course it didn't matter.
The bottom line is that Peterson wasn't man enough to hang with Rios. Whether they weighed the same or not, he doesn't have the chin to deal with Rios power and is not tough enough to hang in there.
Thats why he started to hit him in the nuts.
What a bitch.Comment

He didn't look at all bigger than Peterson. I bet none of you even noticed, or would be making this point if Max Kellerman didn't bring it up during the commentary. The fact is this: the unofficial weigh-ins do not require that a fighter strip down before jumping on the scales. For all we could have known, Rios was wearing more clothes, heavier clothes, and more accouterments.
Unless HBO decided to film these weigh-ins, its hard to tell what makes up for the extra weight.
All in all, I didn't see a size difference. Some fighters you can obviously tell like when Paul Williams was fighting welterweights and blown up light WW's. But last night I didn't think it was a size difference that won the fight.Comment
