Peterson had the wrong gameplan and refused to listen to his corner, fight behind the jab and use the ring. Instead he stood right in from of Rios who would get the better part of the exchanges. Peterson had a great chin cause he took a lot of solid shots to the face, but the low blows was just a biitch move, in my opinion he just didn't want to be stopped.
Am I the only one who thinks Rios' weight was a big advantage over Peterson?

i think both peterson need better training now. when you are going to fight on top level you need to learn more and better.
his trainer told him to fight behind jab and that was right but he did not have chance because rios no respect for his power
i will walk through jab if i know right hand cant hurt me and that is what rios saidComment

Well Martinez boxed smart.
Peterson tried to overpower the bigger, stronger man.
Could you imagine Martinez trying slug it out with Kelly for the first 4 rounds.
Peterson is so ******.Comment

Fans make me laugh with all this "b*tch" talk. I'll never understand why you all think that you're in a position to call a fighter a "b*tch". You all need to show more respect to the guys who actually step inside the ring and put their health/life on the line.Peterson had the wrong gameplan and refused to listen to his corner, fight behind the jab and use the ring. Instead he stood right in from of Rios who would get the better part of the exchanges. Peterson had a great chin cause he took a lot of solid shots to the face, but the low blows was just a biitch move, in my opinion he just didn't want to be stopped.
I saw no reason to doubt Peterson when he said that he didn't realize that he was hitting low. I think that the guy was so caught up in the fight(maybe even a little dazed and confused) that he honestly didn't realize what he was doing. You could see it in his reaction to the ref taking points and eventually stopping the fight.Comment

sounds to me that people are trying to find an excuse for a black fighter who got his ass whooped by a mexican fighter.Comment

Your right but hey Rios made weight when he had to...unless your for same day weigh-ins...
Peterson did ok when he boxed and stayed on the outside but he isn't disciplined enough to do that and was drawn back into a fight when Rios caught up to him...
He eventually elected to stand and trade...even after he got dropped he still went toe-to-toe...Comment

weight doesnt mean too much when a fighter is as skilled as everyone knows anthony is. he is a great fighter just like his brother lamont, but just like his brother lamont the boys like to stand in the pocket and trade...i dont understand why, is its only to prove to their opponents that they have heart and pride.
the weight didnt win rios the fight it was anthony being a peterson that won rios the fight, we were seing rios get outboxed the first round...and i know rios said he starts slow but rios is still a better technical boxer than rios is. rios is a dog in there and he pressed and pressed, peterson felt that pressure and said, hey i got some of that too...BAD MISTAKE. but, in my opinion this loss will help peterson just as much as the win will helo rios. anyhow, it was a great fight...we need to see more like this.Comment

^^^ That's why you my Nickuh! How does pointing out the obvious take any credit away from Rios? He was obviously the bigger man with the much heavier hands in the fight, and that's why he won. Nobody is accusing him of cheating. Peterson didn't have the power to keep the bigger Rios off and he was having trouble dealing with Rios's power.

Weight ALWAYS makes a difference. If Cotto weighed less than Pacquiao on fight night he would've been KO'd much ealier.
That being said, the BIGGEST reason Peterson loss is becuz he didn't follow his corners directions. Simple as that.Comment
