GAMBOA needs to evolve as a professional prize fighter or he will fail!!!

Love the dudes raw gifts of speed, power in both hands, and a killer instinct. Combos out of this world are very entertaining. But he keeps his damn hands down.... on purpose! He needs a new trainer who commands that he adjust his hands down problem. I want him to beat Juan ma but his chances are much slimmer now, after viewing the Salido fight. Those improvements of defense are crucial for his reign on top of the division. Juan ma's power will not be as forgiving.

The truth is I think we have another knucklehead on our hands. Another raw, physically gifted fighter that's talent is endless but....... relies to much on his physical ability instead of a higher technique which should be developed and used in the square circle. Also he seems like he lacks self control, come on, hitting dude with a superman punch after the bell (was cool looking though) and then later striking him while he was in a fetal position on the ropes. Not acceptable and I believe that lack of self discipline will soon separate him from his senses and his potential clutch as a lineal champion.

    Yours thoughts are valued.

He's awkward, he'll cause anyone problems. I don't see anyone beating him easily like some of you suggest!

You can see his ****iness and you'd think afterbeing knocked down 5 times that he'd realize that he needs to stay discipline throughout an entire fight and focus on getting a guy out of there in an entertaining fashion.

I think he could have gotten rid of Salido tonight but instead he was content with goofing off in there.

If a guy goes 12 rounds and isn't even breathing out of his mouth after the fight, he didn't do as much as he could've in the ring.

He is still very amateurish and fights carelessly, against better comp it will get him KTFO if he doesn't improve.

That fight with Salido showed a lot on Gamboa's need to improve his defense IMO.

Honestly, I thought his chin was suspect, and it did show a little truth with Salido clocking him with a left hook that sent him down briefly.

He had resemblances of some shoulder roll techniques, but problem is it seems he's way bobbing his head too forward, hence the tendency for headbutts.

Though his power and relentlessness coupled with that speed is still gonna kill.

And I agree that he needs to improve vastly on defense or else someone out there will give him a beating.

While everyone is down on Gamboa, this last fight told me that he has the heart of a champion to go with his awesome talent. That in it of itself is a deadly combination.

Forget about what y'all percieve is a lack of skill, even after Salido wore him down to the body during the early and middle rounds and had him slow down he still came back to clearly win the last 3rd of the fight.

Just those attributes make him a nightmare for anyone under 130. If he learns how to counter punch and setup his offense better, he'll be top 3 P4P for years to come. If he doesn't he'll still be close to the top of any division he goes to and still P4P 10 for years to come.

He still got my vote for the future P4P no.1.

But it'll be more potent for him to improve his defense for him to be that complete fighter.

Though as of the moment, if it ain't broke don't fix, that's for the time being. But we know how deep is the pool in that division and the nearby ones.

His defense is solid, it's his counter punching and setting up his offense that needs work. Ever since his last fight, his defense has proven to me that it's pretty airtight. He just never had to deal with the consistent body work from the level of fighter Salido is.

Watch closely, until he gets worn down, he makes both fighters look silly throwing punches to the head. His head and upper body movement is a huge reason why Salido wasn't able to really scare him.

Look at when he gets dropped or hurt, it's always a counterpunch because he gets reckless on offense.

If he learned how to setup his offense, he wouldn't get caught in exchanges. He'd drop a crisp 3,4,5 punch combo and move. If he knew how to counter punch with his quickness and sheer explosiveness, he'd have fighters afraid to throw (basically put him into Roy Jones territory, but against better opposition).

Yes he has all the tools. He has all the talent, speed, potential etc. what he also has is that ****ey attitude of thinking no one can beat him.

He keeps his hand at his hips, and keeps them there even when he is in close. He will get KTFO if he keeps this up. His chin is suspect, and not from this fight, but from a few of his previous.

I really like him as a raw talent, but i hate his style of dropping the hands and showboating too much. That **** only goes so far, and will eventually catch up with you.

I'm glad he went the 12, i think he needed it.
