In a few short hours at the Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt, Hessen, Germany, IBO/WBO/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 48KOs) will defend his titles in a rematch with Samuel Peter (34-3, 27KOs). Klitschko won a twelve round decision over Peter five years ago in Atlantic City. During the contest, Peter scored three knockdown. This time both fighters have vowed to win by knockout. Peter replaces Alexander Povetkin as the mandatory opponent under the IBF.

i said before the gavern fight banks isnt cut out to be a heavyweight...where does banks go from here? he is still the nabf champion so he has a decent ranking but to go 12 rounds with montana doesnt do him any favors.on the other hand many top contenders can target his nabf title to get themselves up the ladder & a possible shot at a spot on a K2 card.nice payday i'm sure...if i was in the top 30,i would be targeting banks for sure.

Wlad coulda finished that a lot earlier. He boxed to his strengths and won.

I mean who do you reccommend he fight?

              Toney?

i dont know who i am UNIMPRESSED by more, peter, who looked like garbage, never used a jab to get in, had no footwork, just came in with his head down like a six year old, or......klitschko, who took 10 boring, lumbering, lethargic, non body punching rounds to get him out of there.

i miss mike tyson, lennox lewis, holyfield, bowe, ali, frazier, holmes, foreman, moore,.............the duke..............

this heavyweight fight was an embarrassment to the hv division.

Yea it was VERY one-sided and Peters face was ****ed up with both his eyes almost shut.

Wlad was getting HARD shots in all night, battering him every round. Hard to give Peter even a single round.

After hurting Peter BAD in the 10th, he went for the kill and unloaded on him until Peter went down and the ref immediatly stopped it without even giving him a count

Very good performance by Wlad. Dominated every round, shut Peter's eyes with his jab, then went for the KO and got it. If he had fought like that earlier in his career, HBO wouldn't have dropped him - but better late than never. Wlad's big problem now is to find a meaningful opponent for his next fight, given that none of the top 10 Heavyweights appear to want to fight him (other than Adamek, but it looks as if he's going to fight Vitali). I think he should try to make a fight with Solis or Boytsov.
