U must not have watched too closely then because Peter put two huge welts on Wlad's left side, just under the shoulder blade

Booooooring fight. When will black boxers stop the excessive hugging and fight like men?? On the other fight, between a black and a 40 yr old , fat mexican, the black fighter was hugging and scared to exchange with the fat mexican, who showed heart.

Just compare the Klitschkos to Toney and shannon briggs and see the difference in class-quality-education and style. Who would society or boxing want as role models for the sport? Thanks Brothers for your clean stye well bred classy educated clean living that you bring to boxing. A breath of fresh air the Klits bring to a sport stagnated in uneducated slobs who cannot talk and present a terrible image to the youth of the world. boxing and winning with an education and a coherent vocabulary and a clean cut style. Society the majority loves you.

Maybe my English isn't perfect as I'm really based in Moscow-city, not in NY or anywhere near that point and I do lack serious practice for my language skills but I'm well aware of what the lineal title is and what The Ring title is about. As for the lineal title, I don't consider it much of importance to tell the truth. Different people weared those strides, including, say, Shannon Briggs. That's a bit mythical achievement.

I had nothing against The Ring title but their recent views (especially in the last couple of years) just don't go well with me - for a reason - though I have nothing but a huge share of respect for their authors and their work. Also, I always mention alphabet titles in my articles as I do believe that (for the good or not so good) they play much more important role in defining the path of a fighter's future career. I know examples of boxers vacating their Ring belts to fight for ABC titles and I know quite a few who have done the opposite (namely Tarver and Johnson in their 2004 fight).

With all that said, I got your point. Thanks for expressing your point of view, bro!
Hi Alexey. The point about the lineal title is that by definition, there can only be one world champion in any division at a given time. That's what the words "world champion" mean. To be the man you have to beat the man. When the lineal title is vacant, then to be the man you have to beat the #1 or if that's impossible, the #2 contender in order to be the man.

And the alphabet rankings are corrupt as hell, as a result of which there are always several alphabet belt holders who are not even top 10 fighters in their division, still less "world champions".

Shannon Briggs was only the champion for less than a year. A tiny anomaly like that is simply not comparable with Valuev and then Haye calling themselves world champions for years on end, which is just ridiculous.

And the point about The Ring title is that it is almost always based on who the lineal champion is. The only exception I'm aware of is when they screwed up the Light Heavyweight division for a while as a result of naming Roy Jones the lineal champion prematurely, when he wasn't. That's finally been sorted out now, with Erdei vacating and Pascal now being recognised as both The Ring and the lineal champion.

PS - your English is far better than my Russian!

what!!!!!! did you forget what type of fighter wlad was before manny turned him around???? did you forget that most people thought peter won the first fight and wlad got a gift decision????? did you forget that cory sanders destroyed wlad in a few rounds????? did you forget wlads conditioning was absolutely HORRIBLE before manny turned him into a well conditioned machine??? manny has earned every penny wlad has paid him and is due more. with out manny wlad wouldnt be the fighter he is today. period. and if he had been as reckless as you suggest he should, your right this fight might have been over by the 3rd round with samuel being the winner. dont forget samuel has one punch ko power. and one mistake is all it takes.

you dont know how these dudes live unless you live in their basement. and as far as role models go, i dont want ANY boxer as a role model for my children. i would go with dr Ben carson as a model for my kids. as for boxers i watch the sport for the the sport. i really dont care how a man is living as long as he gets into the ring and takes care of business. if i want to see educated people i'll go watch a lecture or join a book club. boxing is a brutal, nasty sport and i like it like that.

i guess you only see race when you watch a fight. and i bet you have never stepped into the ring. if gamboa is so bad why dont you step into the ring with him and show him how much heart you have. why dont you show him how to be a real man. you wouldnt last a min. and would have to go to the hospital.

Nationalism is the last refuge of a scoundrel. I don't care where a fighter is from or what color he is.

Most of the crying and moaning I've read after this fight is from Haye fans who know that Haye is absolutely DOOMED against Wladimir. He won't last half as long as Peter did -- Sammy is tough.
agree with you on " i dont care where a fighter is from or what color he is" i love the sport of boxing plain and simple. some of the ATG's came from different countries. can you imagine the sport if we didnt have such a diverse pool of competitors?

Just had to comment here by saying - badass win for the champ. :box2:

That's a 5-strong KO streak he's got going. I'll be sad if the next victim is Adamek, but things have to happen...

Congratulations younger Klitchsko! I watched the first fight between Wladimir and Peter with some friends in college, even wrote a piece on it for my personal essay class. So you could say this rematch has some kind of special meaning for me. I may even hunt it down and watch it.

Did Peter hurt Wladimir at any point during the fight? I was high on Sam Peter a few years ago on this forum. I thought he would be another George Foreman somehow but man was I wrong.
