Khan left Frank Warren ages ago mate. He is with Golden Boy now.

Purse bid means the fight is open to offers from any promoter. Frank Warren has been a bit sneeky recently winning bids for fighters on other stables: the Macklin Vs Barker, Ryan Rodes fight and a few others.. he'll go in & he knows that he can make more than the $2mil on hbo by sticking it on sky ppv.

Might be the one of the only times ill like frank's style.

      we will wait and see.

        No it doesn't lol.

Khan is signed to Golden Boy. Only the respective promoters for the fighters in question can make purse bids.

How would that scenario affect Khan' and/or Maidana's GBP contract and the actual promotion of the fight with GBP?

I'm guessing it becomes a Frank Warren event with GBP fighters but I dunno.

Where do GBP make their money then?

I've never heard of a promoter who has fallen out with a fighter bidding to promote one of that fighter's fights without the fighter's agreement -and I'm sure Khan wouldn't agree to it. I'm no expert on this though.

According to Wikipedia, "Purse bids are often won by one of the two fighters' promoters."

              "Often" means "not always".
