Good news. Khan isn't going to be able to duck the fight so easily now.

Who is going to win this fight? The boxer or the powerhouse?

Great news. The WBA does something right for a change. Now the team-Khan propaganda machine has been exposed, and we'll see whether he genuinely wants this fight or not.

Like I said before when Khan was talking loud ****, be careful for what you wish for, you might just get it, now he has to fight. If he don't then it sums up everything people have been saying.

GREAT move by Maidana. Dude knows how to get **** done. First his manager was a d*bag, and now he's out of the contract.

Then Khan started running his mouth and saying he was pricing himself out...he writes a letter to the WBA...gets the fight mandated.

Khan....no more twitter. accept this fight. You can easily win and you're more than skilled enough to pull of a UD in England.

                do it already, bro.

Great news but look for Khan to vacate his belt. He will come up with some excuse for it on his Twitter page. Khan would be facing his first real puncher since he was flattened in the 1st round by Breidis Prescott in 2008. Since that loss, Khan has been selectively matched and not had to face any fighters with power.

Khan would be going from one of the weakest punchers in the division with Paulie Malignaggi,, to one of the hardest punchers in the division Maidana. Let's see if Khan has got the balls to fight Maidana who has been paid to step aside before by Khan's team?

Read it on the WBA website:

                    Dear Sirs:
Please be kindly advised that the World Championships Committee of the World
Boxing Association is opening to Purse Bid the following World Title Fights:

                    DIVISION: SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT (140 Lbs.)
CONTENDERS: AMIR KHAN (UK) VS. MARCOS MAIDANA (ARG)
                    (wBA CHAMPION) (INTERIM CHAMPION)
                    MINIMUM AMOUNT
                    PURSE SPLIT
                    US$ 150,000, oo
                    [55% CHAMPION, 45% INTERIM CHAMPION]

So the split will be 55/45. This is good news for Maidana.
He will get paid close to a 1 million (probably around 900k) for this fight.
