I've seen two posts so far that look to be critisizing Toney for not fighting a top ten fighter.

    Who's available?

    Here's who's NOT available:

Byrd (will take his mandatory vs TOS)
Ruiz (Toney can't fight him because of the WBA, and Ruiz is scared)
    Both Klitschkos
    Barrett and Rahman
    Peter
Brewster and Luan Krasniqi (fighting eachother at the end of Sept)
    McCline

The only note worthy fighters available are Brock and Johnson. Otherwise that makes almost the entire top 15 unavailable.

It's unfortunate, but not his fault. He wanted to fight Byrd, and since the IBF verdict, word is Byrd is more interested in Williamson (who he stands a much better chance agaisnt).

Personally I'd like to see him fight Kirk Johnson or even J C Gomez.

Tua's on the Briggs card. Valuev is scheduled for a fall fight, too, I read the other day on this site.

I don't know what's up with Fres Oquendo

I guess what I read about Valuev was somewhere else; his mention on this site was a movie role. Boxrec has him fighting that night (Oct. 1) vs. TBA in Germany

If Toney isn't fighting for a title, he shouldn't fight at all. I'm becoming less of a Toney fan with each passing day.

Where is Fres Oquendo? He was so close to being the first Latino Heaveyweight champion, and now hes dropped off the face of the earth.

I'm pretty sure John Ruiz is the first Latino heavyweight champion...

He is, but Oquendo beat Bryd, and was robbed dirty. In my sig I still recongize him as one of the first.

Oquendo did beat Byrd on my card

But he also got knocked out by Ruiz...

I know Ruiz has a good right hand, he even hurt Rahman with it and dropped Holyfield, but if Ruiz beats you fair and square by a knockout, you don't have a shot at greatness anymore.

Ruiz hugs, but hes still a good huger, who belive it or not, beat good qusilty fighters that way, the Heaveyweight divsion is all about styles, fighters beat each other, than lose to the most unlikely person nowa days. Oquendo could still be a contender, and the 2nd Latino ever to become champion.
