I am sick of that crap with Toney, he doesnt need a tune-up or anything like that he needs to fight a legit heavyweight again to get his name out there and not some bum.
Also to place it on the same night as Jones comeback is ridiculous and will flop on its ass, if Showtime really wanted to make a mark they would add it to the October 8th ppv since Toney isnt fighting a top 10 fighter.Last edited by spinksjinx; 07-29-2005, 06:02 PM.Comment

I would like to see James Toney vs Kirk Johnson, They both in a way beat John Ruiz, but bouth wound up not winning
James Toney was caught on steroids in the Ruiz fight, his favorite drug was detected, after the fight so nobody won the fight
Kirk Johnson was ahead by at least 3 points going into the 10th vs John Ruiz but Kirk Johnson got disqualified in a fight he was well into winning due to a lowblow call
I would like to see James "The Dopeman" Toney take on "Lowblow" Kirk Johnson,Comment

Both have fast hands, Johnson a bit lighter on his feet. It would be interesting but still nothing with merit.Comment

I think this fight is cool to have cause most heavyweight bouts are mostly all worth nothing to merit in todays Heavyweight, at least, like you stated, it would be interesting and both could get another shot at taking out John The BORING Man Ruiz, because I hate John Ruiz and they both can do it as we seen or almost seenOriginally posted by spinksjinxBoth have fast hands, Johnson a bit lighter on his feet. Unless Ruiz loses his WBA title he wont be fighting Ruiz (Toney). By WBA rules if a fighter tests positive for a banned substance they are banned from the rankings and a title shot for 3 years. Toney is like what 36? I dont think he will be a top guy 3 years from now...But there are better fish to fry and I am referring to the current IBF champ.Comment

I'm not thirlled about any of those prospective opponents for Toney. Beating up on Jirov again wouldn't do anything for him...Jirov just drew with Orlin freakin Norris.
Maybe he should take Matt Skelton to school just to bring that 17-0 record down to earth a little bit.
I'd like to see him whoop Byrds ass though. That's number 1.Comment

Chris Byrd is a loser, he lost his last few fights but gets bad decisions his way, Toney will have to make a quick beating on Byrd cause Byrd gets all 12 round desicions ,even when he loses. Toney will need to show up in great shape to fight Byrd so Byrd wont get another 12 round gift desicion. Toney in shape can K.O Byrd without getting tired. We need Byrd to get taken out. I just dont think Toney can ever get in shape ,anymore.Maybe im wrong, Toney will not get in shape to go vs Byrd, thats why John Ruiz is best suited for ToneyOriginally posted by spinksjinxUnless Ruiz loses his WBA title he wont be fighting Ruiz (Toney). One man who took out Byrd and was in shape was prisonmate Ike Ibeabuschi, he KOed Byrd in 5 rounds.Last edited by Tha_Greatest; 07-29-2005, 07:27 PM.Comment
