Do you think Hopkins saw flaws in pascal for the reason he jumped on the fight?

They did after the Jones fight:
According to Shaw, he presented HBO with a possible fight between Chad Dawson and Hopkins [prior to Dawson losing to Pascal] and the network turned it down because there was little interest in showcasing Hopkins after his performance against Roy Jones Jr. in April. The possibility of HBO providing preferential treatment to another promoter has Shaw a little uptight.
"I offered HBO a fight between Dawson and Hopkins, and they turned it down because they said they weren't interested in televising Hopkins. And you can ask Richard Schaefer because I told him what HBO had said. I don't know how Schaefer is talking about a date of December 18 when HBO is telling everyone they plan to go dark [no boxing] on that date," Shaw told BoxingScene.com.Comment

I sure all these articles when they came out, HBO would not pay over the odds for Hopkins to fight dawson, For hopkins to agree to fight dawson he indicted that he would want a lot of money something which HBO refuse to do and this was even before the RJJ rematch...Hopkins just didnt want to fight Dawson.Comment

Regardless, what is hopkins supposed to do now, fight the loser of Dawson/Pascal? If hopkins fought dawson now people would say oh he's fighting him now after he lost yada yada yada and he's ducking pascal.
Hopkins should get credit for taking on Pascal who just BEAT Dawson, regardless of any flaws he might have. Pretty big risk at almost 46 years old. Most guys would have been retired by now and even a lot of bhop's hardcore fans believe he should hang them up.Comment

Yeah but you're not talking about injury related risk, you're more or less talking about the risk of losing the fight... which imo isn't really a risk where he's at in his career.
