Do you think Hopkins saw flaws in pascal for the reason he jumped on the fight?

IMO, it's a shame when someone who has never been knocked out is old and past it, and gets knocked out. Like seeing David Tua get knocked down and almost out by Monte Barrett. Almost mind boggling and sad to see.
Anyone got the gif for that? Damn, Tua...

The possibility of HBO providing preferential treatment to another promoter has Shaw a little uptight.

"I offered HBO a fight between Dawson and Hopkins, and they turned it down because they said they weren't interested in televising Hopkins. And you can ask Richard Schaefer because I told him what HBO had said. I don't know how Schaefer is talking about a date of December 18 when HBO is telling everyone they plan to go dark [no boxing] on that date," Shaw told BoxingScene.com.
I sure all these articles when they came out, HBO would not pay over the odds for Hopkins to fight dawson, For hopkins to agree to fight dawson he indicted that he would want a lot of money something which HBO refuse to do and this was even before the RJJ rematch...Hopkins just didnt want to fight Dawson.

Basically. HBO wanted the fight - passing from the old to new. Especially since Chad was their new baby.

Hopkins should get credit for taking on Pascal who just BEAT Dawson, regardless of any flaws he might have. Pretty big risk at almost 46 years old. Most guys would have been retired by now and even a lot of bhop's hardcore fans believe he should hang them up.
No one expect Hopkins to go after Dawson now!!! It was just how quick he jumped on a Pascal fight AFTER dawson had lost to him.. Hopkins stayed on the shelf for more than a year rather than fight Dawson.....

Thats exactly what HBO wanted and Hopkins knew that what they want, Hopkins still havent forgotten how HBO "sold" him to the younger guy in Jermaine Taylor..

Well Pascal is the Ring Champion. Why not fight him?

Yeah but you're not talking about injury related risk, you're more or less talking about the risk of losing the fight... which imo isn't really a risk where he's at in his career.

actually I was talking about health wise. i think it's a gamble at this stage of his life to step in the ring with someone like Pascal (or dawson or pretty much any young hungry lion). I'm worried for his health

I feel shot and old and I"m 30. I can't imagine what 46 will be like
