The only star he beat was Cotto. There is no Mayweather, Whitaker or ODLH in his resume. Loses from a non spetacular Santos or loss to Williams doesn't give him a good case. He might have fought the better WW in his era but no real superstars. Wins over Cintron, Clottey or Lewis is not enough

Maybe after Tony beats Mayweather and Pacquiao.
If he pulled that off, he could arguably be in the top 125 all time. But, not top 10 not even close.

2 - Margarito , barely makes 25 ATG mexican fighters
3 - A legend?, what has he done that is so legendary. Plaster overshadow his whole career and he is suspect.
4 - In his last reign , he did not even get 1 w while defending. And again , winning the title has a big ? , since he was caught attempting to cheat.

Common bro , is he really a legend to you?? Really , a legend , Margarito.

Anyone who doesnt see him as a disgrace and a cheater is a blind ****ing idiot. And dont give me that rican excuse , Resto is a disgrace and he is rican. And not only ricans see him as a disgrace.

Tony has been a Top 3 WW for the last decade and fought anyone that stood infront of him like a man. Win lose Tony was always hungry for more which is why hes a legend to me and we wont see another animal like him for quite awhile. Men like Margarito dont come around very often now a days.

Martinez isn't a star?? He beat pretty good opposition at the weight. FYI the loss to Santos was at 154 and not at 47. Being a top WW for around a decade isn't enough?? During an era with amazing WWs and being stacked with talent??

Hell if people can put a guy that hasn't won a world championship as an ATG, then Margarito definitely deserves to be mentioned as a top 25 at WW.

I know at least 2 people who never won a title that are ATG's. But, the circumstances behind that can't be ignored and I doubt you would use that as a comparison. But, maybe you're thinking of somebody else.

So tell me who hasn't won a title and is considered an ATG?

Maybe YOU are the blind ****ing idiot because Tony never cheated and never attempted to.

Everybody including myself viewed Paul Williams as an avoided fighter and a hard worker when he first came up, but now you see he's just in it for the money. Margarito deserves credit for some of the guys he has beaten and he had a deeper resume before he beat Cotto than Williams does now, but after he beat Cotto he became a diva just like Paul Williams is right now. I got no use for guys like that.

He ducked the rematch with Williams blatantly when it was the most meaningful fight in the division to make at that time. He never asked for an immediate rematch like his fans claim he did. He petitioned to become the #1 mandatory challenger. And that is not the same thing. He would've waited until Williams outgrew the division and fight for the title he left behind like Cotto did.

Who has Marg fought? He just lost to Shane Mosley! He is nowhere in the same league!

What about Pac's manadatory Kell Brook?

Forget all the cheat business just go by fighting over the last year.

Margarito is a NOTHING fightm, EVERYBODY with brains sees it a mile off.

Maybe a top 25 WW that was avoided but I see your point but it is measured on who you beat. Martinez bout was when both fighters were comming up I would like to see now how would they fair
