C'mon dawg, tell the whole story if you're gonna drag Sergio Martinez into this article. SMart did not just "decide" to give up his 54 green belt, it was the WBC that gave him an ultimatum: "Either keep the 54 green or keep the 60 green you just lifted off of Staph Boy, but you can't keep both; AND you have an entire 10 calendar days to make your decision in writing back to us. But if your name is Pacman or you're in Bob's stable at TR, then please pick up straps left, right & center at 135 & 140 without ever defending them. Hell we'll even come up with this thing called a diamond belt for all your future catch weight bouts. We could care less about Berto holding our standard green belt at welter b/c we'll give you a more expensive one at the exact same weight class with you stepping on the scale at a max 145. And don't worry about our vacant strap at 54 which is a weight you've never fought at and your opponent's most notable appearance at 54 was getting beat to the punch by a B minus/C plus plodder in Santos. Please don't worry because if push came to shove, we would still agree to a catchweight at 147 lbs and 1 ounce for the LMW strap we gangstered off of Sergio."

The fight being on pay-per-view or not is beyond the point it doesn't change anything. A belt is a belt don't believe in "paper title" crap coz a boxer still has to train for months, get in the ring get his face bashed, his nose busted and still fight the other guy in order to win it! They don't decide who gets the title and who becomes a champ by hitting each other with papers towels! It's so easy to diss others when we don't even dare do what they do and undergo what they go through. My point is, why is Pacquiao not afforded the same right as cotto to fight for the vacant title when in fact he deserves more than him!

Now I never hear anyone complain about Miguel Cotto getting a shot at LMW title when he has never fought above 147 before the foreman fight! and coming from a KO loss to becoming a Champion the next fight??? Pacman has never lost since 2005 and people are questioning his right to fight for the title. btw Light middleweight starts from 147.1 lbs all the way up to 154 lbs. anywhere between those weights is considered a legitimate light middleweight fight. get your facts straight people.
It's true that Cotto never fought at 154lbs before facing Foreman..But in the Cotto vs Foreman title fight at least 1 of them(in this case Foreman) WAS A LEGITIMATE CHAMPION & EARN THAT TITLE BY BEING THE #1 CONTENDER & BEATING THE CHAMPION DANIEL SANTOS! In the Margarito vs Pacquiao fight NEITHER 1 OF THEM have BEATEN ANY of the TOP 10 OR AT LEAST EARN A SHOT AT THE VACANT TITLE!!!..PARASITE sulaiman is just HANDING OUT a Title to these 2 clowns & SKIPPING OVER THE FIGHTER'S that have been in the top 10 for a while & are the 1's WHO EARNED & REALLY DESERVE A SHOT AT THE VACANT TITLE!!!

                  Great fight, yeah

Way better than GAYWEATAHER. Yes at leas they will box not run like gayweather does. We all know that if gayweather decides to fight like calderon did he will also get KO. Yes my friends Gayweather is just like calderon but abit heavier and a couple of inches taller (hahahaha). Calderon on the other hand decides to exchange blows often in the fights not like Gayweather.

The Cotto circumstances are quite different.

When he went up to 147 and fought Quintana for a vacant belt, Quintana had put in work at 147. Had over 20 fights, was an undefeated fighter, and was coming off a good win over a prospect who was suppose to be the next big thing in Joel Julio. And, Quintana was lower top 10 WW, Marg is not nor Pac at 154.

When Cotto went up to 154 he fought a title holder. Marg is not a title holder. Again different circumstances.

If Pac would of went up and fought k9 Bundrage at 154. I would not have a problem calling Pac a 8 division title holder. If Pac went up to 154 and fought P-Will for the vacant title. I would not had a problem with calling Pac a champ. Because, P-Will has put in work at that weight-class.

The problem here is that neither fighter has put in work, neither is a top 10 JMW, and therefor the fight should not be for a title. I wouldn't call the winner champ, nor give credit to Pac for the 8 title. I would not even count it.
