Segura deserves all the credit for making and taking the fight to him and proving once again that cuties ain't **** once they get matched up with a real killer.

The pre fight comments and predictions to this fight were similar to the Dawson/Pascal rhetoric.

Everyone was so dismissive of both Pascal and Segura and so sure that Dawson and Calderon winning was just a foregone conclusion.

I mean why even bother with the fight, just give Dawson and Calderon the wins they said.



When in fact all it proves is that both Dawson and Calderon have been made to look much better than they were by fighting sub par opponents that allowed them to stink it up and spoil the fight to their advantage.

Once confronted with serious opponents, they both folded like plastic lawnchairs.

if u want to thank someone for making this fight possible then it should be segura because he had to go to puerto rico and fight him with all the advantages against him (ring size, judges, etc).. just saying

calderon never fights outside of pr, or ny.

And comparing the sentiment for this fight to that of Dawson/Pascal is inaccurate.

I was one of the many that felt Dawson winning was a foregone conclusion. I admit that no doubt.

I thought Calderon could easily lose this fight. A fighter like him, when the legs go he's done. And I saw a lot of people feeling the same way.

I'm not gonna say Calderon is done...that's unfair to Segura. Calderon was game, but to say he's the fighter he was 5 fights ago is just wrong man.
