I'm assuming most you guys have never been in a street fight based off of the way you guys are talking...

If a MMA fighter and a boxer met on the streets it would go down like this:

MMA fighter is trained in all aspects of fighting, including striking, now remember the MMA fighter DOESNT KNOW he's fighting a trained boxer, so naturually he's going to attempt to stand up with this anonymous ******* who dares challenge me, I'm a ****ing cage fighter.

Now the boxer only knows how to do one thing, but he's trained in that one thing down to a mother****ing science, so he's going to square up with the MMA fighter.

I believe by the time the MMA fighter realized "Holy ****, this guy can throw a ****ing punch" he's going to be knocked out on the ground. I truly believe an MMA figher in a street fight is going to attempt to box, just because he's trained in boxing a little bit, and he's going to be arrogant and assume the regular civilian has no ****ing clue on how to fight.

What happened today was a sanctioned fight. We all KNEW Tony was a boxer. Couture already knew he wasnt going to stand a chance if he tried to box with him.

In a street fight the MMA fighter doesn't know the guy he's fighting knows how to box or vise-versa. But all fights start standing up. So that's my two-cents.

Never underestimate the element of surprise. I'd give the boxer an edge in a street fight.
Where did you get the idea that that's the mentality MMA fighters walk around with? hahahaha

        Boxing is useless.

Whenever I have gotten myself in to a fight I always ground and pound. I have submitted like 7 guys with a leg choke.

          Yeah.

But like that phoolz dude said.

The general MMA fighter in a street fight vs a boxer...

The MMA guy doesn't know the guy is a boxer and vice versa.

almost 98% of fights start standing up.

The boxer trains with his hands, to a science.

          Boxer KO 0:02.

            no need for violence anyway

just too barbaric, if you ask me.

people in street fights are the ones who need something to prove

            and are unsure of themselves.

I'm from central california. we got a lot of white boys here, and a lot of them train in MMA gyms, and a large majority of them are extremely arrogant who swear they could kick anyones ass. but that's besides the point. most every fight starts standing up, an MMA fighter is trained in stand up, so if he fights some random guy off the streets he's going to stand up with him first.

MMA **** is useless in a street fight if someone pokes your eyes out or bites your ear off.

These hypothetical "street fights" dont exist.

                  except, that is....

They do exist in "Night Of The Warrior" starring Lorenzo Lamas. Its about a strip club owner/photographer/retired kickboxing champ who is blackmialed into taking part in the most dangerous game by an underground Japanese illegal kickboxing society.

                  It's a good one.

In a real fight on the streets no one gives a **** whether you win standing up, pounding them on the ground or snapping the guys limb....

The only ppl who care and argue over this **** are keyboard warriors or fanboys.

Theres no ****ing format on war, its either kill or be killed.

striking is better then all those submissions.. they take time, you dont want to lay on the ground cuz seriosuly the other guy could bite your ear of while you are trying to get him to tap out and when youre striking youre at a safe distance
