    pretty much.

Just take the fight for whatever entertainment value it might provide. Boxing isn't church, and morals are the absolute last thing on anyone's conscience.

i once encountered those floyd "boxing is a business" fans and they almost crucified me for arguing that fighters should fight to please the fans. they are the same "legacy don't pay the bills" believers. and ironically, they're also the same posters who are criticizing the pac-margo fight just like what the ts is saying.

Just the fact that you're upset about a thread title is, well,

        pretty lame.

and they're the same ones who are keeping clear of this thread.

Suddenly, "boxing isn't a business" and "Pacquiao needs to take better fights against more deserving opponents".

Nah not upset bro but I started doing "I love how" threads 2 weeks ago, I was using it as a signature. But chalk it up to coincidence I guess

Although I do agree that for that "one reason or another" PBF did not fight Margo or Pac. I respectfully disagree that this fight is legitamate.

Here is why: (1) The weight limit established will be 2 lbs below the designated limit of 154lbs for the division's belt. (2) Margarito was beaten (convincingly) by Shane Mosley and (3) Arum's approach to keeping fights in house is NO way to run a business. JMM would have been equally if not more lucrative than a fight with Margarito.

My point simply although it's a commendable challenge to fight Margarito (no doubt) there are way too many questions and unethical dealings surrounding this fight. One that truly takes away from the sport. Some of which is Pac's fault, some of which is the promoter, but if you believe that this fight is "legitamate" than that is your opinion. Furthermore, I won't way this fight will NOT be entertaining, I'm sure it will be while it lasts.

I am not a Floyd Fan...I am a fan of the sport.

                Later.

                  Its a great matchup.

Thats all I care about and all I've ever cared about.

Never, ever once have I muttered that, "well, he doesn't bring much to the table, he has no bargaining power, he doesn't have much of a fan base".

all thats ever mattered to me as a boxing fan is this,

how good of a fight its going to be.

I don't get suckered into being part of an event, or whether the guy has an exploding personality.

I just want to see good fights.

Thats cool. I think its legitimate in the fact that these are two guys who one of the sports more talented fighters, chose to avoid. On one hand, it shows Pacs willingness to venture into shark infested waters yet again. On the other, it plays to the Pacquiao vs Mexico rivalry. It doesn't take away anything from the sport, its always been shady and this matchup is nothing new in that regard to the circumstances surrounding it. Imo, Margarito dealt with his punishment and is back to doing what hes done since he was a kid, fight. I don't particularly agree with the catch weight , its not a big deal as Margarito is hardly a 154 fighter anyway, nor do I agree to it being a title fight, but that point is pretty moot when we're seeing two high action fighters square off together. If anything, the advantage for the catch weight is to Margaritos favor as he doesn't have to lose 5 more pounds to hit 147 which might be even more taxing on his body this late in his career.

151lb catchweight isn't a big deal for Margo. He's being given 4lbs over the WW limit, which he made for most of his fights anyway. He'll be 160+ on fight night.

Manny will be at 148-151 on fight night. Guaranteed he doesn't even weigh in over 147.
