I love how people change their stances, "boxing is a business"

whenever it comes to Mayweathers decisions on who he fights and who he doesn't,
but Pac agrees to fight Margarito and,
"how dare he give that cheater a pay day".
Who else would make Manny this much money?
You would think that all of those who ride with Floyd and his "business decisions", would be excited and happy for Pacquiao to making a fight of this magnitude. There are so many storylines behind this fight,
and all they can do is cry about how Texas is wrong and Margarito doesn't deserve a fight.
I love it.
Business is in full swing boys! Be happy!
btw, when those that speak ill of Arum keeping his fights inhouse,
just remember this,
"boxing is a business".
Bob Arum is a businessman. You can't hate on him, hes gettin' his paper! What kind of dummy would share his money?
just sit back and enjoy itComment

I thought for sure there would be more Floyd fans in here applauding Mannys decision once they realized it was about business.
You'd think they'd be more of a fan of Arum as well since he is all about business.Comment

I personally DON'T like the idea of giving Margs a payday.
I also DON'T approve of fighting for a title at a reduced weight
(still within the SWW class, don't get me wrong).
However:
From the POV of generating revenue and maintaining visibility for Pacquiao,
this matchup is sheer fucking genius. You've got two very strong fanbases,
and a dash of notoriety/scandal for added pop. There's also the David/Goliath
angle and fighting styles that guarantee no snoring.
I still disapprove, so let me know when Pac and Martinez have signed.Comment

the same way floyd haters say floyd didn't fight the best at ww yet don't care that manny did not fight the top fighter at 135, fought no one at 140,manny didn't fight the #1 ww in mosley and is now goin to fight at 154 and he will not be fighting the top fighters at that division either but i don't hear those floyd haters complainin about that
Floyd hasn't fought the best at WW. Cotto beat Shane who beat Tony who beat Cotto. Manny didn't fight the best at 135, but twice beat its reigning champion. At 140, Manny demolished the lineal and true, undefeated at that weight, champion Ricky Hatton in two rounds. Would you really like to see Manny fight Shane now? lol, ok. So that when hes done destroying Shane for good, you can stand on your rickety soap box and proclaim, "Shane was old and Floyd beat him first"? In regards to fighting at 154, seeing as how its his first fight at that weight, albeit, a catchweight,
what top fighters did Floyd face at 140, 147 or 154?
Don't worry sweet cheeks, I don't expect you to answer.
Now, on to what the thread is actually about,
why aren't you happy that business is going good with this fight?
You should be overjoyed that Manny made a "smart business decision".Comment

In formal logic, a contradiction is the signal of defeat, but in the evolution of real knowledge it marks the first step in progress toward a victory.....just sayin!!!Comment
