I have to disagree. He is a top 5 all time entertainer in boxing, a top 5 greatest story in all of boxing, but he is not a top 5 all time boxer when you look at resume or skill. The fights that have taken him from a favorite of hardcore fans to a household name (De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, & Clottey) aren't that impressive especially when you consider the point in their careers and/or the circumstance he forced them to fight under. He is impressive, entertaining, and one of the best doing it at a relatively weak time for boxing, but he's not a top 5 ATG

Come on man, don't be silly. If you think that you know nothing about the truly great stories of other fighters over the years. Pac has the same story as most great fighters. Came from poverty, would become a national hero, great fighter etc etc, but there is nothing truly different that sets him apart.

He's great, don't get me wrong, but there are many more fighters with greater stories and more who were greater entertainers.

Even though many think Pac is the greatest boxer who ever lived, like Paul Maliggnaggi thinks. I think we should wait until Pac retires. To say he is the best boxer who ever lived, may be a little bit premature.

I dunno man, you've gotta give the guy credit for how huge he is on the world scene- people who know nothing about boxing know who Manny Pacquiao. And now he's a legit Congressman in the Phillipines, I don't think any other boxer has ever held a political office like that while still actively fighting. And they say he could have a shot at the presidency one day the way things work there. He's taken that story you say many boxers have to a whole new level.

My point was that people need to separate how interesting his story is and how entertaining his style is from the conversation of where he ranks among ATGs. That should strictly be about his skill level and resume- and at this point he is not a top 5 ATG based on those 2 things.
