Cotto is a survivalist & a class act who deserves credit for enduring one of the ugliest beatdowns in the history of the sport and still hold his head up high. It's quite the intriguing anomaly that Cotto takes more responsibility in terms of the overall fight and its outcome than Tony would ever own up to by his own twisted means of it being a legitimate W.
I won't keep beating a dead horse here even if the accusations seem blaringly obvious. In Margarito's defense, he may NOT have known about the inserts but atleast man up and apologize for the potential damage he may have put fighters in.... don't give the commission the finger saying they're incompetent the second ur licensed in TX(hellhole) and insist you and Bob arum will go walk hand in hand towards a big money fight come November. This is bigger than that.
Hear me out, this ordeal will drag on with him for the rest of his life. We're only at the beginning stages right now. If margarito wants to reform himself, the jumpoff pt. is in the Pacquiao bout. The way this pans out, if he loses to Manny aka mexicutioner(I see a Hatton situation unfolding here) his career takes a nosedive and arum feeds what's left of him to Cotto for a trilogy. Best believe Steward will give Migs better prep in a rematch. Watch how fast slimebob turns on his disgraced star after Cotto exposes him big time. Just don't say I didn't warn you.

I don't think he's a light puncher but he certainly can't apply those same bully tactics that worked for him on earlier opponents vs pac. I just don't see it in him. Hell I doubt we'll ever see the ferocious Margarito of old ever again..

I'm not trying to start an argument here but let me get this clear...

1. Steroids = More Punching Power, More Thrown Punches, Better Overall Physical Endurance and lets not forget Roid Rage/Adrenaline amongst other benefits.

2. Illegal Handwraps = More Punching Power

From what I see they are just as bad as eachother. Over a 12 round fight a fighter on steriods may be able to throw 100-200 or even more punches than if he wasn't becuase of his increased physical condition. All those with additional power and never waivering deminishing returns on his power punches because of the physical endurance that steroids can provide.

Don't get me wrong, illegal wraps are bad and they are in no way less dangerous - But to minimize the benefits that steroids can give you just to say one is worst that the other isn't fair.

Murder and theft are both illegal and can both cause someone harm, but one gets a far more serious punishment than the other.

In boxing, low blows are illegal and can cause someone harm, but usually only get a warning or a one-point deduction; whereas steroid use usually gets a 6 month suspension, and plaster usually gets a lifetime ban.

The idea that anything that is illegal and can cause harm is by definition equally serious and should get the same punishment is just silly.

A puncher is a puncher and a non puncher simply doesnt have it.

Except when he does. As in the case of Benitez, who was not a puncher, but in one fight scored a spectacular one-punch KO of a world class opponent.

Sometimes the puncher wont be able to KO and sometimes the non puncher will KO. There are exceptions, but exceptions dont make the rule.

But plenty of exceptions still exist. Here's another one: a prime Foreman was never able to hurt Jimmy Young.

In any case, Margarito has never shown one-punch power, it was always an accumulation of blows that did the damage. And he got a knock-down against Garcia, and won almost every round. It's far too early to draw any definitive conclusions.
