If you really equate steroid use with carrying an offensive weapon (in the form of plaster) into the ring, you're a complete idiot. The latter is life threatening. The former may help someone to win, although even that is disputed by many drug experts, in the case of boxing; but it is not likely to result in anyone dying. That's why plaster use in the past has resulted in lifetime bans, whereas steroid use in the past has resulted in 6 month suspensions.

Mosley without steroids beat De La Hoya decisively. In the rematch, Mosley with steroids was extremely lucky to get the decision - and should have lost, in the opinion of most ringsiders. That doesn't mean he shouldn't have been punished - he should, but unfortunately he wasn't caught at the time; but it does prove that they didn't actually help him.

I'm not trying to start an argument here but let me get this clear...

1. Steroids = More Punching Power, More Thrown Punches, Better Overall Physical Endurance and lets not forget Roid Rage/Adrenaline amongst other benefits.

2. Illegal Handwraps = More Punching Power

From what I see they are just as bad as eachother. Over a 12 round fight a fighter on steriods may be able to throw 100-200 or even more punches than if he wasn't becuase of his increased physical condition. All those with additional power and never waivering deminishing returns on his power punches because of the physical endurance that steroids can provide.

Don't get me wrong, illegal wraps are bad and they are in no way less dangerous - But to minimize the benefits that steroids can give you just to say one is worst that the other isn't fair. They're both illegal and they both can cause someone harm. Or am I tripping?

Steroids boost your stamina and endurance and power all of those things that you just mention while ilegal hand wraping only boost your power in the punches. Thats completely true.

But to compare Steroids with illegal handwraps are you ...... serious.
Do you even know what plaster is. Break ur hand and see how it fells like see how it turns into cement in no time as water is aplly to it. In margarritos case as he start sweeting in the figth and he wet it.

If you want prove just watch as Margarito hit for the first time Cotto. The first clean hit on Cotto and Cotto was already backing away like it he was hit with a rock. Where was his power with Mosley. Not only did Mosley beat him put where was his power in that fight. He hit Mosley cleanly.

It's not always as simple as that. For instance, one of the most dramatic knock-outs of all time was scored by Wilfred Benitez against Maurice Hope. Hope was a world class fighter who had been WBC world champion for two years at the time, but Benitez sparked him unconscious with one punch. Hope's leg started to shake uncontrollably while he lay unconscious on the canvas, and he had to be given oxygen. But Benitez was not usually a knock-out artist.

1. A puncher is a puncher and a non puncher simply doesnt have it.
2. Sometimes the puncher wont be able to KO and sometimes the non puncher will KO. There are exceptions, but exceptions dont make the rule.
3. Margo used to make us believe that he was the real thing, but after he was caught cheating and was stripped of his brick wraps he proved us wrong: no punching power against SSM and no puncher power against a less than ordinary Garcia. Just a regular, slow, vulnerable and ordinary fighter.
4. Bottom line Margo doesnt punch, he new that since he started boxing.
5. Capetillo came up with a bright idea: the plaster, the brick attack.
6. That would make a real difference, and it did. Only that he got caught like Luis Resto.
7. Both cases have something in common: evidence was enough for a first or second degree murder attempt count.
