Only in this era of boxing could someone like Miguel Cotto be considered a warrior

I didn't hear many calling him a warrior before the Margarito wrap scandal.I did, however, hear many question his heart after he ran in the latter rounds against an old Shane Mosley. The Margarito finish didn't do his reputation any better, either.

Say what you want about Antonio Margarito, but he took his beating like a man.Had the ref not stepped in,Margarito would have gotten back to his feet, smile on his face, and remained there until his body could no longer withstand the ordeal.

The amount of credit Cotto received from the Clottey fight was pretty pathetic, too.Only in this era could a fighter be credited for lasting the distance with a cut.Not a broken jaw,not a broken hand - A cut, just above the eye.As far as I recall,he did a hell of a lot of running in that fight, looking to survive and hope for a decision, based on his early work, rather than looking to claim a decisive one.

I don't like Cotto, but I don't hate him, either.I don't regard him as a coward, nor a warrior.I think he deserves credit for consistently fighting world class opposition,in an era in which most so called "elite" opposition are too busy at the negotiating table. But at the same time,I'm not going to regard him as something he's clearly not.

And I also don't think those in attendance at his fight with Manny Pacquiao, who booed him mercilessly for running away and trying to survive, would disagree, either, - Atleast if they were honest.

That is exactly how I feel about him. He is a glorified B (being generous) level fighter.

He fights guys that can beat him, He fights CLEAN, He doesn't clintch or hugs, He gives it all in each fight. Maybe you are confusing Warrior with Super Heroe.

I mis-voted...but Cotto is a true warrior...he is not involved with any boxing politics, he just wants to fight and be well compensated. You put Jesus Christ in front of him and he'll fight.

If all fighters have even the smallest amount of cojones and spirit in them that Cotto has, then this sport wouldn't be on life support waiting for a May/Pac fight so much

B level fighters don't beat Shane Mosley.

Anyone who laces up the gloves are warriors in my eyes! Gotta remember, boxing is the hardest and most dangerous sport to get into!

Cotto is a warrior coz he fought two cheaters in steroid user Mosley and Margarito.
He beat the roid user and lost after being hit with bricks all night long.
