Actually the first fight was March 19 2005 and he was 28 so no he wasnt just turning 30 and the second fight was 8 months later on January 26th 2006and he had just turned 29 that past September.
So within an 8 month period he went from the biggest win of his career to past his Prime. Yeah that happens all the time.
And it just recently became the biggest win of his career....because Pacquiao became that great but back then it wasn't.

Barrera may have been an ******* at times but he also stood up for his countrymen when he fought Nazeem Hamed. In a previous fight hamed body slammed a Mexican fighter to the ground. Barrera didn't like that and was very clear he was gonna whip Hameds ass for that.Comment

fighters do it all the time.
ali-foreman , duran-barkley , foreman-moorer , holyfield-tyson are recent examples.
just look at jmm. his best win casamayor was at 135 and 135 wasn't his best weight and hasn't looked the same since after pacquiao 2 and since moving up.Comment

man , i use to hate morales too.
i was a barrera guy (you had to take sides , that's what made that rivalry great)
that said , i keep things real.
only an idiot would think morales wasn't past his best by the time he fought pacquiao.
as a barrera fan , the reason i think barrera won more convincingly in the 3rd fight over morales , was because morales was past it.
you just a mex nuthugger.
I can't stand mofo like you who can only answer "you don't know ****" but they can't bring some facts or proofs...
Morales was past it??
WHY???
I want a proof Mister Left Hook,I want some facts, based on what he entered past his prime in the ring??
What previous performances?Comment

1. i'm not even mexican
2. i'm one of the biggest ******* here.
3. i say "you don't know ****" because you don't.
all you have to look at is compare his previous fight (morales-barrera 3) and watch the 1st 2 morales-barrera fights.
all you have to do is have eyes and you can tell morales was no longer in his prime.
the pacquiao was the last great fight of morales' career. just because he won doesn't mean he was still at his best.
i love pacquiao but he lost to a past prime morales. end of.
still a great win but it is what it is.Comment
