you have valid points but if King partnership with GBP push through, I will not be surprise if it will end up in a courtroom knowing King's history...

That's a possibility if the t's aren't crossed and i's aren't dotted. But that's after the fact. What's more important is getting the fight done in a big way which I feel is the main goal.

king got played by floyd. king recently talked smack against GBP and schaeffer presumably floyd gave him the impression he's gonna jump ship. now he's singing a diff tune, and willing to work w/ them, maybe he's not so sure about getting floyd on his own now.

Floyd would be pretty dumb to give money to both GBP and Don King. Why bring in more people to split the pot with?

its not unheard of though! manny has to give a % of his wins to bob arum and oscar. but thats due to a loss in court its not by choice.

you are right. arum and don has been doing this for decades. but i do think its not floyds aim to out hustle. but rather to play two dates against each other in hopes of being the recipient of more money which he feels he deserves.

Exactly, just last week he was ****-talking about GBP and Haymon saying they treat Floyd badly, they don't respect him or value him, they can't understand him because they can't speak ******ese, etc.

Now all of a sudden he's extending an olive branch to them and wants a partnership?

His biggest mistake was telling the media he could make Pacquiao-Mayweather with Arum 'in two shakes of a lamb's tail' or 'in the blink of an eye'.

Floyd doesn't want to hear that. Man can't even say Pacquiao's name in public because he's worried he might pass out from sheer terror. Floyd heard an urban legend that if you say 'Manny Pacquiao' 5x while looking in the mirror, the Pacman will come and get you . He doesn't want someone who can make that fight happen in a matter of hours, he wants a promoter who will overpay him to fight Ivan Calderon or a Ricky Hatton rematch in another farce.

or fight for a title in a class he has never fought in vs a opponet thats not even re-instated by any commission. now thats a true farce.

The %age to Oscar was not due to a loss in courts it was due to an agreement so as to avoid court costs etc. it is remarkable that Arum stated in a big interview he gave less than a week ago that Oscar was getting 25% of Manny's purse. Well let me tell you, that if there was ANY chance, even slight, that Oscar would get anything like that, it would have gone to court, because Arum had a conclusive contract clause which forbade Manny even discussing signing with anyone, whilst still under contract with Top Rank....which, at the time, he still was, although it was coming up for renewal. The story of how Oscar waylaid Manny after a 16 hour trip, and carried him off to late night dinner, when all he wanted was to go to bed, is too well known for me to repeat here. Suffice it to say that Oscar tried to highjack Manny, just like Don King successfully stole Hasim Rahman from Cedric Kushnir (by offering him $500,000 in notes, leaving poor Cedric waiting for Rahman in his hotel room, where he never showed). There was a 2 hour TV special all about this vile trick of King's.

So I would conclude, that the 25% is just Arum's way of putting Golden Balls in an uncomfortable position where if they agree that they are getting 25% then they are thieves who are doing nothing for their cut, and if they deny it, then they'll have to reveal the REAL cut, which is, I recall in the nature of 5%, a nuisance sliver. Arum was very clever in his urging Oscar to give up the 25% if he didn't like the Margarito match, and he, Arum would donate it to Charity, (which I believe he actually does a lot of, privately).

I also believe that if Arum HIMSELF gets a gross 25% and pays all expenses etc. it's as much as he gets.
