Comments Thread For: King Open To Golden Boy Partnership To Sign Mayweather

In order to sign Floyd Mayweather Jr., hall of fame promoter Don King is open to a working relationship with Golden Boy Promotions, and the fighter's adviser Al Haymon. Over the last few weeks, King has been wooing Mayweather to sign a promotional agreement. The veteran promoter believes he can generate the most money for Mayweather, and King doesn't see any roadblocks to prevent a deal with Top Rank for a Manny Pacquiao mega-fight.

king got played by floyd. king recently talked smack against GBP and schaeffer presumably floyd gave him the impression he's gonna jump ship. now he's singing a diff tune, and willing to work w/ them, maybe he's not so sure about getting floyd on his own now.

I dislike King, but I guess Floyd signing with him is the only way forward.

King's just treating Floyd like the ho he is.

Seriously, King's a cancer on the sport, but Floyd deserves it.

I guess $500 dollar lobster gifts are how to win over Floyd. Not that King hasn't been wooing fighters for ages.

Floyd would be pretty dumb to give money to both GBP and Don King. Why bring in more people to split the pot with?

I ain't hating on don king on trying to earn a percentage off the cash cow also known as floyd mayweather jr. ... i don't blame him one bit, but mayweather better be careful in making a deal, because Don King is the DEBBLE...

Come on man, you've seen the gifts that King's been dealing out to Mayweather, haven't you? A $500 lobster, for ****'s sake. What girl could resist that.

                  hey...

Mayweather went to King just to give him more leverage when dealing with GBP..more leverage as in, more guaranteed money, or he threatened to jump ship.

                  Mayweather won't sign with King.

If signing with Don King can make the fight with Pac happen then I'm all for it.
