    Mayweather won't sign with King.
Ahh yes, because Floyd is a master manipulator.

He's swimming with the true sharks here, actually. He's not going to out hustle these dudes at their own game, that game essentially being to hustle boxers.

This has all the makings of a dissaster, Associating with Golden boy will only complicate matters, too many greedy fuccers trying to get their piece of the pie.

true but he's gonna push even those old sharks to their limits.
There's no pro-boxer's union (and there damn well should be), so this would be like a Football player "holding out" for a bigger paycheck.

And all of this is still for nothing...since I believe he sincerely has little interest in fighting Manny Pacquiao, and the fight will never happen.

Exactly, just last week he was ****-talking about GBP and Haymon saying they treat Floyd badly, they don't respect him or value him, they can't understand him because they can't speak ******ese, etc.

Now all of a sudden he's extending an olive branch to them and wants a partnership?

His biggest mistake was telling the media he could make Pacquiao-Mayweather with Arum 'in two shakes of a lamb's tail' or 'in the blink of an eye'.

Floyd doesn't want to hear that. Man can't even say Pacquiao's name in public because he's worried he might pass out from sheer terror. Floyd heard an urban legend that if you say 'Manny Pacquiao' 5x while looking in the mirror, the Pacman will come and get you . He doesn't want someone who can make that fight happen in a matter of hours, he wants a promoter who will overpay him to fight Ivan Calderon or a Ricky Hatton rematch in another farce.

Perhaps, because the pie is big enough to split the pot with everyone.

I'm looking at it from a promotional angle. A mega promotional angle.

Can you imagine having a master mind promotional team all working together to bring this fight to the public? We're talking about three giant promotional
companies -- Golden Boy, Top Rank and Don King Promos in conjunction with Mayweather promotions AND MP Promotions.

If they get it done, the pie would be big enough to split with everyone getting their cut. Not to mention, the undercard would be stacked with some great matches. As it should be.

In my view, they're thinking big. If I'm not wrong, the plan is not simply to promote a fight between two world champions and leave it at that, I have a feeling they want to add live performances and events into the mix.

It's the fight the entire boxing world is waiting for, right?

you have valid points but if King partnership with GBP push through, I will not be surprise if it will end up in a courtroom knowing King's history...

i thought mayweather said he is his own boss, whatever happened to mayweather promotions?

don king shouldnt get a dime because of all the money he stole right from under fighters (ali, foreman, tyson, mayorga, etc.) and gbp shouldnt get a dime because they lied about negotiations not taking place and tried to make top rank and pacquiao look like they were crazy

this fight will sell all by itself all they need is a hbo 24/7 and some interviews on late night talk shows and it will sell more than de la hoya mayweather even in this recession
