Billy Conn got TKO'd at 139 then later in his career went on to face Joe Loius who was 200 lbs. He lasted 13 rounds in their first fight, how in the hell did he do that?

georges carpentier started at 112 lbs & became a lightheavyweight champion. i wonder what kind of steroids they were using in the 1920s?

Cotto never hit him with that shot Marquez was able to land. Marquez caught him flush on the chin and he completely did not see it coming.

Most fight fans have to look no futher than Cotto...

Cotto was getting rocked at 140, then the jump to 147, and his chin improved some what.

Folks act like an increase in size doesn't help. Or coming in at a better weight for your body. Not to mention, Pac saw the uppercut of Cotto's coming (he stood there and waited on it). Look no further than Mayorga to show you that if you see it coming, it may not have that great of an effect. Unless you are Tito of course, and we know he had monster power.

An increase in size helps. Also, please don't try and make it seem as if Cotto was just landing bomb after bomb on Manny...He wasn't!

Also, I think the TS meant to say "punch resistance"...Cause we all know that Pac's "damage resistance" is that of a normal person...You know, broke ear drums and such...Or the four punches Clottey landed that busted him up and all...

apart from manny, there's been countless fighters throughout history who have moved up in weight much more pronounced than than manny & have been successful too. a lot of fighters. it only seems otherworldly now with manny because he is collecting belts that didnt exist back then.

                    LOL

Duran was knocked down twice by Dejesus, yet took huge shots from Hagler and Barkley.

Being young, wild and reckless gets u hurt. Becoming better technically, stronger and knowing how to brace urself for the punch comes with experience.

Ali was also knocked down by Jones and Cooper, yet took shots from Foreman and Shavers.
