American boxing fans

I'm a huge fan of other sports in addition to boxing. Boxing is a very niche sport here. I've only been really into it for a couple years.

It's nothing compared to any of the 4 major pro sports and big 2 college sports as far as number of passionate fans in my opinion.

All the big sports in other countries can be watched here too. Directv carries Fox Soccer Channel, GolTV, and Fox Soccer Plus which are all 24/7 soccer/football channels who primarily carry matches from other countries. Directv has a bunch of channels just for UEFA matches. If you are a cricket fan you can follow that as well.

We are saturated with sports...

why is it that you dont have the same passion and commitment as other countries, most noticeably, Brits ?

Considering the money you have, the venues, the population. It baffles me why you can be completely out-sung and have you patriotism trounced by a tiny little island such as ours.

I think its because Americans have the attention spans of goldfish and unless the fighter is involved in a drug scandal or catches a gun charge then hes old news. I would also add all the fighters like Chad Dawson who have superior natural talent but all they think about is living like a rap star and thats why they will always lose to less skilled people who have big hearts and motivation. Haha at the people saying you would kill to live in the USA. Would rather live in a 3rd world country. **** half of USA is 3rd world health care, quality of life and overall happyness.

Meh. I love boxing, and I'd say I'm pretty patriotic (Hell, I serve in the military).

But I don't just look at the fighter's country when deciding who to root for.

In fact, I'd say a majority of my favorite fighters aren't American.

Not to mention, sometimes it's hard to really like some American fighters. Just look at Mayweather. He's obnoxious, and while I appreciate his tremendous skill and consider myself a fan, he's not really someone I want as a representation of our great country.
