Anyone else find the level of sympathy for Mike Tyson cringeworthy?

I feel the need to paste my previous post in another thread here:

Tyson didn't **** Desiree Washington. Read up on it in some Tyson books, especially the one by Peter Heller. She had a history of claiming ****, even as a teenager when she was ashamed of herself and afraid of her father's judgement of her having sex. Not two mention the only evidence she had of **** were to abrasions on her vagina (which happens when a 220 pound man has sex with a 90 pound girl, especially Mike Tyson, as he was known to like rough sex), and her half-assed story of **** (which changed multiple times and was full of holes). You mean to tell me a woman is going to get ****d at 2 AM in a hotel room and not a peep is going to be heard?

While in prison, Tyson wrote a letter to his friend who happened to be an ESPN boxing commentator/interviewer. It went roughly "I'll never admit to raping that woman, even if it lessens my time in here, because I just didn't do it. However, there are about 5-7 other things I've done in my life which are far worse than that for which I am in prison for, so I feel I'm in the right place."

The real story is that Mike treated her like he treated every other woman- wham, bam, thank you mam. In Desiree's mind, the final straw was when he didn't walk her back to the limo (the limo driver testified that Disiree was in a pissy mood and quoted her as saying "Who does he think he is?"). On top of that, Don King believed that Tyson needed to become a "martyr for the blacks" or something rather, and assigned his tax attorney to defend Mike in the **** trial, because behind closed doors, Don King thought the black community would see Tyson as a martyr of some sort.

As for the credibility of Robin Givens (and her mother Ruth Roper, working as a team), just remember what Mike said to Steve Lott after seeing Robin crying: "Remember Steve, she's an actress. A very good one." Also remember that Robin Givens lied to Mike and said she was pregnant with his kid so he would marry her. And then what happened when he married her? A few months later she divorced him and took his money.

When "StarchedLOL" was confronted with the facts in another thread, he simply ignored them and proceeded to attempt to distract by resorting to the typical "Tyson nuthugger", etc. No response to the facts.

I feel people deserve a second chance at life and Tyson now understands the ****** mistakes he made in his early life.

I don't feel bad for him because he had it all at a very early age and screwed it up as bad as anyone can, that was his fault and no one elses for making many bad choices.

I have nothing against him though and wish him the best with the rest of his life.

I guess you have sympathy for child ******ers as well then, because most of them have been ******ed as well when they were young, so by your logic their actions are excusable. A lot of people are poor and grow up in violence, the overwhelming majority of them do not turn to violence against innocents.

I personally find it sickening how this convicted rapist and thug is treated like some sort of tragic figure,he's human and we all have our faults but what he did and how people feel sorry for him annoys me like hell.this lunatic was a rapist a wife beater and a complete thug and still still treat him like a victim.He and all his supporters blame everything on everyone else except when it came time to tyson getting exposed and beaten badly in japan,then they will say it was tysons fault just so they can discredit douglas credit for his win.

Just as you used Tyson's victim past history against her, you can do the same for Tyson. He had a history of violence against women and men and he is just a crazy mofo, able to bite a person's ear of in front of millions, could imagine what he is capable of when no one was looking.

It terms of the no screaming thing; it's very easy to imagine like you said, a 210+ pound male athlete muffling the screams of a 90 pound woman with one of his hands on her mouth. Besides, did it ever occurr that she was so scared that she didn't even bother screaming, because he probably told her or she thought he would kill her if she did?

Givens called the cops multiple times on Tyson and there were multiple photos of her badly beaten face after she was sent to the emergency room. She left him after he beat her, which I don't blame her for.

The martyr things is ridiculous, he was making King hunderds of millions, there is no way King cared to make him a martyr. Oh, and Tyson didn't just have one lawyer, he had a whole team of them, kind of like OJ, except he couldn't play the race card like OJ could.

What's your point? That the media made them do it? The stars that beat their wifes would have been wife beaters even if they weren't famous, that's who they are. Being famous does not give someone license to do those things. Like I said, own your actions.

Tyson served some time, about 3 years. some people have gotten more and less for the same crime.

So what you are saying that if a girl comes up with you to your room the expectation is that she always wants to sex with you? Is she allowed to change her mind in the middle of it, or can you proceed to do whatever you want just because she came up to the room with you?

This is a typical excuse that rapists use - "By wearing that dress she was asking for it". The fact that he didn't break into her house or kidnap her doesn't mean it's not ****, most ****s occur between acquantences and friends of the victim or their family.
