  • I was wrong: Chad isn't what we thought

And it isn't because he lacks the talent. He lacks the instinct, the hunger, the drive. He doesn't want it like the greats do. He doesn't want it like a Mayweather or SRL, a Pacquiao or RJJ.

It's sad, but it is what it is.

Dawson got good skills but lacks the heart and desire to reign at the top. He'll be back though, it was just a bad night.

This is why Mayweather is the best in the business. When he gets hurt, he comes back with a fire, like it's his duty to come out and kill someone. Dawson takes a hit, and well... just takes the hit.

Joe Calzaghe would have whooped Dawson's ass tonight by a one-sided slap-down.

                I disagree.

I think this is an example of a night where a fighter just didn't have it, knew it, and didn't want to be in the ring. We've seen Chad in a war, and he wasn't scared of it.

It's not like Pascal was fighting a fantastic fight. He was fighting scared , he just threw those one or two combos that left the judges with no choice but to score the round for him because Dawson refused to respond most the fight.

I would be surprised if we ever saw Chad Dawson look like this ever again. Not every fighter is Floyd Mayweather, they have off nights. I'll chalk this up to that until proven otherwise.

will wait and see how he does in a rematch before I go THAT FAR, but I do agree with the lack of a Killer Instinct, he has great boxing skills no doubt...but when you have a man hurt you have to jump on him you can't just stop and look at him, he had Pascal hurt with a beautiful shot but he STOPPED

this might end up being a TRILOGY between Pascal and Dawson which is not a bad thing since both of them are still young and that division needs some excitement

but Pascal deserves all the Credit, he fought his ass off so respect to him, I look forward to seeing them fight again real soon

Imagine people giving up on Sugar Ray after losing that first fight to Duran, that is the different between True Boxing fans and you NEW BOXING FANS, you guys are ready to give up on a fighter after one bad performance lol

Dawson is still a beast, Pascal got the win but he wasn't OVERLY IMPRESSIVE nor did a walk away from this fight thinking "IT IS NO WAY DAWSON CAN BEAT THIS GUY"

Something needs to be tweaked in Chad. He has potential but if he's not willing to change, he won't be Bad Chad for long.
