If Lewis beat an old Holy, then Holy beat an old Tyson. Argument offet..and Lewis was 2-0 vs Holy....agreed,f ck the judges. Holyfield will be more beloved than Lewis as time passes, but I'll take Lennox overall.

Holy was incredible at Cruiser, that is for sure.
Lewis was 1-0-1 with him, get it right, dip****s. The fights with Lewis came about two years, and over two years after his Tyson fights. Two years can do a lot to change a person. Tyson was out of his prime (after jail) when he fought Holyfield.

I suppose Ruiz is better than him, too, for going 1-1-1 with him in 2001. It was only four years after he fought Tyson the second time.

Also, how can Lewis be put above anyone? He was a champion during one of the weakest periods of heavyweight history. Look at his record, he has a long list of nothings and old guys on his list. The best guys he ever beat were McCall (after being KOed the first go around), Tua, Mercer, and Vitali. He beat a Tyson who was far past his prime, and an aging Holyfield as well. I don't see how he can be cracked up as an all time great.

I rate Holyfield higher for beating the same guys, but at a much earlier time in their career. Not to mention he beat Foreman during his second reign, and nobody can deny how good Foreman was at that time. Yeah, he was old, but during the next six years he went on to gain several titles.

....you think the judges called that first fight (between Holy & Lewis) correctly ?

It doesn't matter if it was called correctly, it was a draw. He went 1-0-1.

For the record, it's 1-0-1....but boxing doesn't always come down to numbers.

I'm a huge Julio Cear Chavez fan, but absolutely consider his draw with Pernell Whitaker to be a loss.

I'm a Holyfield fan, & wanted him to beat Lewis' ass, but I know the decision was atrocious. I view it as a loss.

I know this is completely off topic (forgive ?) but I'm very interested in your view of the Chavez-Taylor stoppage, since youre a chavez fan. Do you think that Steele did the right thing? Or that Taylor deserved to make it thru the final 2 sec's and get the win?? Just curious. (hoping you and I havent discussed this already!)

I can see why Steele stopped it, based on Taylor's condition. But, I believe he should have had SOME idea of the time left, & let it go on.
He made the right call, but at the wrong time, IMO. There was no foul play or corruption involved.

thanks for humoring me in the middle of a non related thread
I agree that Steele should have just let him ride the finish out. Good to know a chavez fan feels that way, and I do think youre the first I've talked to so far that did.
