Ward's wins over Kessler and Green are better than Bute's wins over Andrade and Miranda. Not to mention Ward beat Miranda before Bute. Bute beat Miranda better than Ward did but Abraham beat Miranda better than Bute and Ward, and Pavlik beat a fresher version of Miranda by TKO but that doesn't make Pavlik better than Abraham, Ward and Bute does it?

Anyways, Ward is the best SMW in the world.

If you know how to count, the first Andrade fight isn't controversial. It doesn't matter that the ref counted long because the final bell already sounded and Bute beat the count (you can count for yourselves). Suppose the ref never stopped his count to direct Andrade into the neutral corner. What was gonna happen? He was gonna let ANdrade beat on Bute even after the final bell sounded?

Does it matter? Bute went down with some 6 seconds left. Normally you're saved by the bell in the last round. Wasn't that the case in this fight?

yea, to be honest I never understood the controversy about the first Andrade fight. maybe it was because the ref was an idiot and got angry at Andrade...for nothing. which was ******, but didnt actually effect the fight outcome.

But once Bute got up, the round would have been over. It really didnt matter how long the count was, the fight was over 5 or 6 seconds after he got dropped.

the only thing controversial about it was that maybe Bute was in such bad shape that it didnt qualify for getting up from the knockdown? I dunno.

It can only be controversial in 2 ways:

1: If you think Bute was completely out on his feet and the ref should have stopped the action.

                    or

2: Bute could not be saved by the bell in the last round.

Even the second option is a long shot as any referee, I think, would have let Bute continue if the bell rang during the count. Maybe Bute wasn't alert, but he was on his feet.

Andre Dirrell is number 1 for me. And should be recognised if he beats Ward. I think Ward and Dirrell are a class above the rest at the moment.

                      Dirrell > Ward>>>>Kessler>Froch>Bute

That's how I have it. I really rate The Matrix, he was unlucky in the Froch fight, his negative approach cost him, but as soon as his confidence came through he schooled Froch all over. Schooled Abraham too. Ward is a different kettle of fish but I think Dirrell will put on another clinic and win a fair and well fought contest.

As for Bute, he was KO'd by Andrade, which fair enough, he avenged but I think both Kessler and Froch would beat Bute.

Since Calzaghe retired the SMW division has become the best in boxing imo, lots of styles and brilliant match ups.
