Jeff Lacy and Jermain Taylor

Hey all,

After watching the Jermain Taylor hopkins fight I started to think about something. Jermain Taylor unofficially came in weighing 171. He is still growing and he definitely will have to step up in weight. It seems that he and Jeff Lacy are on a collision course. If he and Jeff Lacy were to fight in the next fight or two who do you all think would win?

I personally feel that it would be a good fight with Jeff Lacy coming out on top. Lacy is very very strong and is a solid 168 pounder. Jermaine would be solid too, however could he handle the big punch that lacy would put out? and remember Lacy is not 40 so a fast pace in close fight would be exactly what he would want. Lastly Lacy can take a heck of a punch he showed that when he fought that iranian guy. I cannot remember his name. What do you all think??? Who do you see winning?





P.S. I still think Hopkins won because he started to take over late. Lastly if you all remember you have to take a champions title not make it to the twelth round. He did not give Hopkins a sound beating. he does not deserve the belt. However he won so my hat goes off to him.

I would pick Lacy in a late stoppage...I think Taylor's size and that fact that he is a big and rangy MW would be enough to keep Lacy off of him for a few rounds...but I think Lacy will begin to bomb him in the middle rounds and Taylor looked a bit shakey vs Hopkins

Lacy is not a good boxer, noway I see him beating Taylor. Also Lacy don't have a big punch, he couldn't knock out Omar Sheika. Omar Sheika was KO by Joe Calzaghe, Thomas Tate & Scott Pemberton. I think Taylor hits harder then Lacy, Taylor will outbox lacy easily & he might KO him late.

Don't overrate Lacy, the guy couldn't KO Omar. What makes you think he will KO Taylor. Taylor will Ko Lacy if they ever fought. Lacy fights like Tyson minus the power, he is not a good boxer. Taylor is the better boxer & harder hitter.

Don't underrate Omar Sheika. If you saw that fight, you'd know how determined Omar was to win, probably one of the best fights he's had. As far as Lacy and Taylor are concerned, based on the two fighters styles alone, Lacy would come out on top.

How could I respect a guy like Omar he was KO by the likes of Thomas Tate & Scott Pemberton. Also Omar rocked Lacy in that fight, Taylor hits way harder then any fighter Lacy ever fought. This will be an easy fight for Taylor. Taylor by KO!

lol, i must be arguing with a twelve-year-old here.. if you're gonna continue this, you're gonna have to have some other points to discuss here, not write "He hits way harder" and "Taylor by KO" in every post.

and, like i said, you obviously haven't watched the Sheika/Lacy fight because if you had, you'd know Omar fought as well as he could that night.

No your the idiot that don't know ****. You are overrating a guy like Lacy. I clearly proved my point about Lacy's chin & power. The soft hitting Omar rocked him & he couldn't KO Omar. Omar was KO by 2 bums. Any person with a little knowledge of boxing will tell you that Taylor is the better boxer & the harder puncher. If Taylor would've ever fought a bum like Omar, he would've knocked him out within 3 rounds. I think you are making yourself look more ****** after each post.
