If Dana White got into the boxing Business

and started signing alot exciting fighters exclusive to his boxing company and he called it "UFC Boxing".Would he make boxing bigger?

I think he would cause he`s willing to match best against the best more often then HBO boxing,he loads up PPV fights with exciting under-cards to help make UFC grow and does other things to promote UFC better then boxing is being promoted.

no. The only reason Dana White can make any fight he wants is because he owns the contract for virtually every fighter. Boxing is too divided and individual based..promoters need the boxers a lot of the time, while mma fighters need the UFC.

I can promise you that if Golden Boy or Top Rank had the market cornered and had the contract for pretty much every top fighter, they would put together any matchup they wanted.

It has nothing to do with promoters not wanting to match the best vs the best...trust me, Arum is greedy, if he had both Mayweather and Pacquiao's contracts, he wouldnt hesitate for a second to cash in and make them fight. They would be more than willing to make the 'best fight the best'. Its just that the promoting companies have internal wars, and try to keep their 'cash cows' at the height of their popularity.

also, UFC can have large undercards mostly becuase they pay those fighters peanuts compared to what boxers make. most boxers wouldnt stand for that, and they would go off in another direction.

He already was in the boxing buisiness and didn't do to well.

Further, UFC is basically one huge promotional company. That's why dana white has so much power, everyone has to do what he says.

That obviously wouldn't work in boxing, unless dana had a company that owned 85% of boxers.

Even further, how gay would it be if say Golden Boy got so big that they had their own Golden Boy belts and only fought eachother? Marquez vs Khan would be the Golden Boy 135 pound belt. No other promotional company could participate (top rank, etc.). Top Rank would have their own belts etc etc etc

I`m aware that Dana owns the contract for most of the fighters in UFC and that is why he is able to make the best fight the best. And i`m also aware that he pay`s his fighters peanuts. That`s why my theory is if he owned a boxing organization and signed alot of exciting fighters
he world make boxing bigger cause the way he promotes fights.

There's much less politics in UFC.

Even so, Dana promotes the hell out of his fighters and his brand. And to top it off, he puts up a Sonnen/Silva fight with a sick undercard, for example.

Imagine if boxing promoters did that. Imagine if Khan/Maidana fought already. Then Ortiz fights the winner. Imagine both of them being promoted non stop, with a FREE show of their training camps and lead up to the fight.

Imagine them coming out on Letterman, Leno, Kimmel, Ferguson's shows. Give them a spot on ESPN. Put em on SportsCenter, put them on PTI, put them on Rome, put them on ESPN Radio, etc.....

Promoting is expensive as hell.....but that's why you can't ask a guy on the sidewalk if he thinks Bradley can beat Khan.

But young people EVERYWHERE know who Anderson Silva is. Matt Hughes. GSP. Forget about it. These guys are being pushed correctly and aren't allowed to duck fighters. And for that reason....losses don't matter on your record. Silva and Machida are being pressured to fight each other, and they'd refuse. But Dana has already said there could be a penalty or they can have their belts stripped if it happens.

You think people look down on Machida or Rua any less because they lost to each other? HELLLLL NO. I would gladly pay to see a rubber match, with a stacked undercard.

But a JMM/Diaz fight on PPV? come on now.

I love Floyd but if that happened he would retire quickly and never fight again.

and how would he do that? You said he puts on great undercards but pays his fighters peanuts. In boxing that wouldn't work. No boxer is going to fight for peanuts when they can fight for hundreds of thousands of dollars with someone else.

It's literally impossible for dana white to come to boxing and be succesful.

The only way, is if all the big promoters suddently died at the exact same time and they all left Dana White as the sole beneficiary to these companies and all of the contracts, thus giving White all of the exciting talented fighters at the same time.

Unless that were to happen, dana white could not succeed in boxing if he were to come for whatever crazy reason.

Maybe he could be successful in promoting 1 or 2 guys and bring them to stardom at best, but nothing like you speak of.

What type of boxing business was it?

with the right Matchmaking he can make boxing bigger plus you have to consider the fact that he promotes boxing very well.

Don`t get me wrong i`m not a Dana white Nuthugger,i actually can`t stand him but i think he did a good job with UFC.

UFC is one organization. Boxing has over 8 organizations. Not gonna happen.

Everyone's version of exciting is not the same.

The reason UFC/MMA has grown and is viewed as exciting by some is because of the dumbing down of society. People need to realize technology is a gift and a curse.
