how come not one person bring up the catchweight of 155-156 for a 160 fight?

alot of people criticize pac for catchweight fights...fahk, how can you even consider the fight against delahoya a catchweight fight that wasnt even requested by pac? that fight was basically a circus fantasy fight that was conjured up by an HBO analyst...that many people predicting delahoyha winning...then after pac reconfigured delahoya, all of a sudden it became a drainweight issue.
the marquez/mayweather catchweight fight was even worse...mayweather not even coming in at the agreed catchweight against martinez and laughed it off and paid it off with a fine.
the fight against cotto had a 1 pound catchweight from cottos normal official weighins of 146 down to the agreed 145. the upcoming fight against against margarito isnt even really a catchweight fight considering margarito was a career welterweight and had only one fight at 154 in his last fight in which he looked sluggish and slow for that weight.

the susposedly catchweight difference fight between angulo and martinez is much worse than the catchweight difference that cotto had against pac, and is much worse than what margarito will face...considering that martinez will have to drop close 5 pounds...not just 1 pound just as was cotto's case...and the catchweight shouldnt really mean much to the career welterweight in margarito.

        I don't buy it.

Angulo fought on ESPN2 for small money when he already had a garanteed purse on HBO a little down the line. I think Shaw told him he could make more and to stand his ground but when HBO didn't budge he and the manager threw Angullo under the Bus. Shaw is doing a lot of business with HBO right now so he probably didn't want to look like an ass hole, Angulo is an easy scape goat.

Can you believe Perro Angulo turned down $750,000 to fight Sergio Martinez? I can't believe it and neither can his promoter, Gary Shaw.
So Angulo turned into Floyd Mayweather all of a sudden?

Hopefully someone interviews Angulo to see what he says, if he is turning into a cherry picker then shame on him. HBO creates monsters though, he got paid $350k against Acline and now they offer him twice that against a guy who he probably has a 10% shot at beating..

        Either way it's bull ****.

So you think his manager is lying?

He sees the odds and wants to cash out on his next potential loss.

            Sh$t didn't work.

            Clear duck.

The only way it could be clearer is if Angulo had a press conference and said "I ducked Martinez"

ya and all those guys are stationary fighters who cant move, well except for Cintron who can move a little and box and coincidentally enough is the only one to beat Angulo. i cant stand it where posters jump on bandwagons of this guy and that guy and hate on other fighters while failing to notice the defficiencies of their own fighter. You cant teach Speed and unfortunately Angulo doesnt have speed. he can hire whoever he wants, noone is gonna make a faster fighter. I bet a million dollars that whoever he fights next will be another stationary guy with a somewhat successful past that cant **** anymore against a 20 something year old. like i said its a smart boxing move, but to give up $750,000 and piss on HBO IS A ****** BUSINESS MOVE. EVEN IF YOU LOSE TO MARTINEZ YOURE LOSING TO A P4P GUY, BUT ANGULO KNOWS HE WILL NOT ONLY LOSE TO MARTINEZ BUT BE EMBARRASSED BY MARTINEZ. TOUGH CALL ON HIS PART, BUT DONT STAND THERE AND SAY YOU AINT AFRAID OF ANYONE WHEN ITS CLEAR THAT YOU ARE.

It's possible he wanted $250k more since he knows his chances are slim to none but u also have to remember that Shaw never wanted this fight for Angulo. All of a sudden Shaw is the voice of reason here?

Shaw is a huge slime ball, I wouldn't be surprised if it played out just the way I think it did and Shaw is using Angulo as a scapegoat.

After Shaw found out HBO was pissed it's time to play the blame game.

I don't blame Angulo for trying to make a little extra money, The fight will happen, Why not take the K9 fight make some cash then step up to the best and really test your self?

He did say he'd fight anyone but I don't think it makes him a puzz for trying to make a little extra money

Maravilla is fast and moves, but he's hittable and Angulo hits hard, I wouldn't count El Perro out instantly, Bet this fight happens early next year

I can't remember a manager do this to there fighter before.

Blaming them for a fight not coming together.

                      Pretty messed up.

                      Even if its true.
