How to make boxing the #1 sport in the world again.

The one thing that could put boxing back on top and maybe take the #1 spot for Americas fav sport! Elementary, Middle, High school, and College Boxing. If they put these programs back into the schools, it would change the game. We would once again completely dominate the sport of boxing. Football,Baseball, Basketball, and Soccer would suffer alot. This would attract more fans, and better boxers. If a child from the ****** could get a full scholarship from boxing, it would open up a whole new world. Can you imagine the amount of parents signing there children up for pee wee league boxing, lol. Putting Boxing back into the school system, is the best way to grow it into Americas #1 sport.

That is a very good idea I have never really thought of a boxing scholarship. To be honest Pacquiao vs. Mayweather will do wonders for boxing this fight will have such an outstanding effect on children. Little kids in the ****** are going to see that a boxer made 50 million for a fight and they are going to want to box.

But then you'd still have the same problems when you hit professional boxing. Until professional boxing is fixed with a unified commission, I doubt the major problems that keep boxing down will ever be fixed.

they'll never allow boxing for elementary and junior high kids.

maybe high school but that's doubtful too.

schools even drop wrestling because of insurance/lawsuit costs. let alone boxing where they don't just grapple they actually hit each other.

Boxing will never be America's #1 sport again. The scholarships is a good idea but as far as elementary, middle and high schools that is was amatuer boxing programs are for and sponsored by the city and state dept of recreation. Yes these programs need to be more available and better funded but they are there.

Also boxing is actually more expensive than football,basketball and baseball. I say that because even though you have traveling AAU basketball and baseball teams the top teams are sponsored by nike, reebok and addidas so that is the big difference. Football equipment is provided except for cleats and there is not a lot of travel to that so its cheaper for parents to get kids involved in.

Football,Baseball, Basketball, and Soccer touches every family in the world because there is at least one family member playing one of those sports. How many people can say they have a real competeing boxer in there family, no where near the same amount.

After boxing is put back into the schools football and basketball will take a huge hit on new recruits, because a champion boxer shines alot brighter than a star basketball player, for the simple reason its a one on one sport vs a team sport where you have to share your victory. I also believe it would cut down on school violence. All the school real fighters would be in the gym boxing.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get this started. The more I think about it the more I feel its a brilliant plan. Football,Baseball, Basketball, and Soccer coaches are not gonna like this idea, I promise you that,lol.

Yes up until they are out college soccer is played by some Americans but not many where I am from. After college nobody give a flying **** about soccer in America. If they did why the hell did MLS need to bring over David Beckham and after a week or so nobody cared about him being here. The LA was looked at as being fools for paying Beckham all that money and getting no return.

Americans just needs to stop trying to force soccer down peoples throats. Yes its a nice game but America's very elite athletes will never pick soccer over football, basketball, baseball or boxing.

**** more top American athletes pick track and field over soccer. Think about for a second you have top 25 rated high school football players who instead taking a football scholarship take a track scholarship so it leaves the school with another football scholarship. When that persons plan the whole time is to concentrate more on football than track. **** like that don't happen for soccer.
