I am sure he will fight him just to shut ppl up so no reason for all this ducking nonsense, Dawson doesn't have to go toe to toe he has this attribute called skills.
If by "skills" you mean running around like a chicken and holding in every exchange then Dawson is really P4P best, hands down.
I'm sure he wont and would rather go to 168-170 than fight Cloud
If dawson went toe-to-toe against Johnson he would have been ko'd.
So please understand styles make fights.
Going toe-to-toe against Johnson is obviously going to be a tough task for any man. A boxer is obviously going to look better against Johnson moving side to side, pot-shotting, and staying away.
This is why it's silly to say "oh well dawson beat Johnson easier than Cloud" when that means nothing because they have two opposite styles. People always say styles make fights but rarely people actually understand what that means.
Cloud should adapt then and develop skills, you can't take that arguable shut out win away from Dawson against Johnson and praise Cloud's razor thin decision due to style differences.
Dawson used what tools he had and his are more technically advanced than Cloud's.

They should at least attempt to develop skills and not get hit so much in their attempt to land punches, its the whole idea behind it.
I seriously don't think boxers that have subpar defensive skill like to eat punches in all of their fights, and I seriously doubt they don't train defense at all in the gym, each fighter is different, some can withstand getting hit while others don't, it's all part of the sport.
Guys like Cloud, a real G by the way, is the kind of guy who gets hit in order to land two or three shots, they can withstand that kind of punishment, who's to say that's not a skill? from what you are saying the only way for a boxer to be considered "skillful" is by dodging and moving around the ring. Has it crossed your mind that there are other factors involved in the sport? sure, moving the ring and avoiding shots it's one part of the game but what about endurance, resistance, planting your feet well in order to land a powerful shot? those attributes are also part of being a fighter, your boy Dawson may excel in the running department, but Cloud, again a real G, excels in absorbing and dishing out punishment, and that it's a skill, otherwise everyone would be a boxer.
