Like I said yesterday... learn boxing before talking ****.
Literally name me one fight where a commentator has used the phrase Philly Shell, and I'll throw 100K points your way.
It's what it is called... true story.Comment

TECHNICALLY its called the philly shell. I dont give a poop what a commentator says son.
The shoulder roll is a technique used IN the philly shell.

not to mention even if you rolled with a southpaws right hand shot you still wouldn't be in range to counter with your right....which is kinda the point. the main offensive benefit of the shell is to roll right hands and counter with your own.shoulder roll only gives an Orthodox fighter an advantage over another Orthodox fighter. There's hundreds of them.
for a shoulder roll to be effective the other way around (Southpaw)...there'd have to be a proportionate number of Southpaw fighters....and that's not the case.
Orthodox + shoulder roll vs. Southpaw doesn't work as well....since the punch you'd be rolling off is the quick Jab, not the power punch (which leaves the Orthodox fighter wide open).
It's just a numbers thing, really. There aren't enough Southpaws to make the shoulder roll a popular style for Southpaws.Comment

Speaking as a southpaw....there is really nothing for you to shoulder roll unless you're fighting another southpaw....making it pretty pointless.Comment
