    doesn't work.. i used to do it alot a few weeks back.. and wondered why i was getting hit with a straight often. lol

      i would recommend watching, at least, 3 lucian bute fights to see how he goes into a shell-like posture to land that left hand body shot.

      afterward, zab judah's fights against mayweather and cotto and taking note of when he used it effectively to counter.

      it appears to me that bute makes his opponent reach with the right hand, leaving them open for a counter while judah allows them to step in to catch them with that tight uppercut. i've oversimplified it, as they both must be set up beforehand.

      when playing with it, i find myself having to step away from the jab by moving at an angle ( / ) towards the right hand and end up having to completely duck the right hand which makes the shell dang near useless for actually countering.

      trying to really imitate mayweather will get you rocked with the straight and/ or a left hook you will probably never see.
