Devon is still untested. That's why this fight would make an intriguing one and a competitive one.
untested? Id say Kotelnik tested the hell out of Devon and considering the styles, Devon did OK.

Marquez does not belong above 135. Simple as that. Anyone with speed and boxing ability will defeat Marquez. His power will not carry to 140.

fine you disagree. But i say Marquez can win this one. Not saying it's gonna be a wide margin.

Most of you was saying Kotelnik was a euro bum. Especially when Khan beat him. A paper champ right?

I think it was more a combination of range and timing that made Kotelnik such a tough matchup. Whenever Devin was in range to throw a punch Kotelnik was in range to counter. All Devin would have to do with Marquez is remain outside and out work him...easy win. Range is huge depending on your style. Devin was getting very poor advice from his team against Kotelnik. That fight called for him to go inside and Devin was only landing solid shots when he was inside and/or mixing it up toe to toe. Outside he was getting picked apart in the middle rounds. from rounds 4-10 I only gave devin 1-2 rounds. He needed to fight in the pocket and i've seen him do that pretty effectively in the past.

Boxing is chess not checkers guys. Just because Devin was getting countered by Kotelnik doesn't mean just throw a counterpuncher in there and Devin will lose. There are other factors to look at.

Marquez is the better fight but I just don't think JMM belongs at 140. I would say Alexander by close decision

I like Marquez. He's clearly the superior boxer of the 2, and Devon has to many kinks in his defense that a boxer of Marquez's quality can take advantage of. The only question that I have with Juan, is will he be able to handle 140? His skills are unquestionable, it's the weight that concerns me. How will he handle naturally stronger JRWW's? There's to many question marks for me (concerning Juan moving up to 140). I myself would like to see him take a tune-up at 140, just to see how he would handle the weight, and then possibly talk about the bigger names.

I only question Marquez's power at 140, and if he can't hurt Devon, he may be looking at getting outworked.

I think Marquez might have a counter punchers dream fight in this one, but it still may not be enough at 37 years old to keep up with the work rate.

Make no mistake, though.. Marquez has big moments in this fight with huge clean shots that snap Devons head back.

I think at the end of the fight, though... you will see Devon as the clearly more active fighter, probably wins on activity.

And again, this is NOT JMM's weight class.. anything over 135 for JMM I don't take too seriously.
