i agree with most folks on here. Im just a boxing fan NOT Alexander or Koletnik, But Devon got his arse beat and got exposed!! Busier won him the fight my ass...NO ST LOUIS won him the fight, judges where had picked. Koletnik coulda beat Devon half to death and STILL woulda lost the fight
cuz he didnt KO Devon. OO Don King not gonna let his lol superstar Perish
like that!! I just think it UnFair for fighter like Koletnik, esp for his 1st american debut fight, that he gets hand picked as a Stout tuneup opponent
fightin in "The Stars" home town, and the Only chance of winning is by OK!!
they REALLY should ban HOMETOWN FIGHTS. In all Big Title Fights!!

Although I think he should've lost a close decision or maybe eeked out a draw tonight, I still think Alexander could beat Bradley. They're rather similar fighters, but I think Devon may have a bit more pop. Both of them, however, would be exposed by a power puncher that has timing and lets their hands go. I think Kendall Holt proved that Bradley leaves himself open when he gets wild. Pacquiao would starch both of them. Khan would likely outbox both of them. Maidana probably stops Alexander if he can land, but gets outboxed by Bradley. Zab Judah would likely beat them both as well if he doesn't lose focus or gas.Last edited by The Prophet; 08-08-2010, 12:56 AM.

1.) " alexander was garbage tonight "
= proves that Devon's performances can be disappointingly inconsistent
2.) " kotelnik is just a average fighter with no upside "
= proves that Devon can struggle against average fighters
Neither of those points will have HBO beaming with pride.
I'm not too sure about that.
I get the feeling that often folks rate fighters as either ****, or great, but when it comes to a style match-up it's not that " black or white ".
I think it's more likely that Kotelnik is a little under-rated, and he showed up good-to-go and put on a great performance..... and Devon may be slightly over-rated, and could have found himself in a tough fight against an experienced guy who could handle his stuff and stay on him until the later rounds.
Even though Devon is very experienced, I always thought he seemed a couple of years behind Bradley in terms of development.
It'll be interesting to hear Bradley's thought's on the matter

Who cares if you're busier if you're not landing and the majority of your shots are blocked? Busier, yet he was outlanded by like 25 punches, and for the most part Kotelnik's punchers were far cleaner and landing flush. Alexander even admitted his legs gave out in the 12th. This whole unofficial 140lb tournament doesn't really matter anyway. No disrespect to Alexander, Bradley, or the rest of the 140lb division, but they'd all get starched by Pacquiao.
Manny is not a JWW.
He was stripped when he entered into negotiations to fight Margarito at JMW.
Bradley is the man at 140.
But I absolutely agree with your comment in bold.
That really pisses me off too.
Workrate and aggression are both completely counter-productive unless they are effective, it would almost be more logical to deduct a point for wasted output and providing your opponent with opportunities

Like I said in the last thread, It was very close & could have gone either way..Now about Bradley knocking out Alexander(like many have mentioned), I don't think so..Bradley IS NOT a knockout artist, Bradley has only 11 KO's in 27 fights & the last time Bradley scored a TKO was over 3 years ago(or 9 fights ago)..Bradley & Kotelink have more or less the same punching power so I dont see Bradley knocking Alexander out...& Bradley was the 1 who almost got KO'd against Holt when Bradley beat him by UD & Holt's 2 previous losses came by KO & was KO'd by Mabuza after the Bradley fight..I think Alexander hits harder than Holt..Maybe Alexander will learn from this fight & come with a better plan & better prepared for Bradley..
