And oddly enough, it seems although Floyd is doing whatever he can to get the fight done. Including signing with Don King. Please. Floyd is not afraid of Manny Pacquiao. If anything Manny is a afraid of random blood testing.

there's more than enough time to promote & get this fight done. its the biggest fight of this generation & its only early august. if they announce the fight on monday they can do it end of november or early december.

this fight hardly needs promotion & it will do 2 mill minimum.

No I don't think so. Floyd still has to work out his deal with King and unless he is a complete idiot, he will make sure everything in the contract is legit. Again Don is the loop hole king and has taken countless people to the cleaners due to their lack of business savvy and not understanding everything they are signing to.

Nope. It makes no sense for him to drop Margacheato right now when he knows this is his last opportunity to use him for a big fight. Manny's hype will die down when he loses to Floyd next spring. If people don't care about this fight right now... what makes you think they're going to care next year after Manny loses to Floyd? The whole point of Arum putting Manny against his own fighters is to keep the money in house and to show Floyd Manny is willing to fight the guys he didn't want to fight back in the day.

Not enough time to do a promo tour, get a training camp in, study your opponent, etc.

I was told it takes around 6 months to promote a big fight like a DLH vs. Floyd fight. I expect them to agree to a deal early next year and have the fight around May-June.

Won't work as Manny has congressional obligations. Nov 13 is the date that Manny fights and this cannot and will not be changed.

Oh forgot about his congressional obligations..do you think that if the fight gets signed do you think it needs a big promotional push because to me the negotiations been a promotion

There is too much money that will be made, and too many greedy individuals looking to maximize their dollars in this fight. Their is so much stuff that needs to be worked out....e.g. promo tours, guest appereance, advertisement etc. Yeah we as boxing fans don't need to see all of this to know the importance but the causal fan does and since they dictate the majority of the sells, getting them (as many as possible)to buy the fight if a high priority.

For argument sake, lets say this is true.Floyd still has to work out a deal with King which will take a few weeks (if Floyd is smart).

Then Arum and King have to work out the particulars and this will take a few more weeks on top of that.

So at the earliest a deal could be reached by mid September leaving a month and a half to promote the fight.

This is why the deadline set by Arum was so important. The Key is promoting to get the maximum attention that will lead to doing the best numbers possible.

The problem is the causal fan has a short attention span when it comes to boxing. For this to do over 2.5 million they will have to really get this fight out there to let the fans (casual ones) understand how huge this fight truly is.

e.g. commericals and guest appearance proclaiming this is a must see, or this is the best fight in the last 30 year etc. People get this jammed that there throat with a ton of promotion and they will think they are missing out on a once in a lifetime event by not purchasing this fight.
