      Fast boxers

Unless your fighting style or train a boxer whose fighting style is speed, I don't think you could really speak on behalf of a fast fighter. Mayweather is going to be crazy fast with the 14lbs relative to Winky, that won't change. No matter what weight class he fights at, he will be very fast compared to the guy in the other corner. My only fear for mayweather would be Winky's ability to stand firm defensivly and remaining capable of releasing power shots while mayweather throws a flurry. Winky's jab won't be much of a factor because as an "inside" fighter your jab will chase away the fast footed dancer, which you don't want to do. Diego Corrales is a good example of what Winky's style will look like, just better/faster/stronger. I'm looking forward to the 8th round on because the 14lbs may tire out mayweathers legs in the late rounds. Most boxers put on the weight midway through their training, which causes them to go through a lot of training at a lighter weight, so they don't get conditioned for the weight as well as they would if they put on the weight first. It'll be a good fight. Look for mayweather to dance, jump in tap tap tap, jump out and Winky to keep his hands up waiting for mayweather to jump in let out a few taps, then throw a few power shots. Enjoy

So how do you know that his speed won't change? Not everyone can carry their speed or punching power when they go up in weight.

If mayweather wins i think he will be ranked among the all time greats automatically. i think floyd can pull it off. Winkys not a big puncher and his speed may allow him to get around winkys jab. i would love to see the betting odds in this fight.

              hmm

Mosley was just as fast as Mayweather when he was 135 lbs, and when he fought Winky, speed was NOT a factor.

Floyd is a very good fighter, but there some problems if he weighs in at 154 lbs.

              1) He will never be able to go back to 140.
              2) Eventually someone at 154 will stp him, probably Winky if they fight.
              3) He may not even be able to go back to 147 lbs after weighin 154 if it is solid muscle, or if he does he may never look as good as before (see Mosley).

If Floyd fights Winky weighing in at 145 lbs or less, I say it is a good move. Floyd has no business putting on a "real" 14 lbs. That would kill his career, if not vs Wright then some other way.

Also, Winky is a very physical fighter. He is defensively aggressive and pushes guys around when he wants to. Floyd would have to run too much I think to avoid this. If Floyd takes the fight, props to him though. I'd give him about a 25% chance to win.

                Hey we finally agree!

Good post. 14 pounds is a lot of weight, and while I don't think he'd put on the full 14 because it would hurt his abilites at 140/147, it will definitely slow him down against Wright.

Floyd may be an anomaly though. If he were to beat Winky then he'd have my full respect because the guy wants to go after the big dogs. We'll just have to wait and see.

Me personally betting on it, I'd put my money on a boring Wright UD, but hey I've gone 0-2 in my last two predictions so who knows.

I agree with floyd having to come in weighting around what he weighs now. if that should happen i would give him about a 50% chance of winning.

i cant believe there are so many posts on this topic... why? cause this **** aint happening... floyd isn't moving up 2 weight classes and passing up bigger money fights with hatton, oscar and zab to fight wright... not to mention there's potential fights with chico, cotto, margorito, and shane too...
