Back on the Winky tilt, if he put the weight on that would slow him dramatically, as the idea trhat Winky has never fought anybody in that class I refer you to Trinidad and Mosley. The job Winky did on Tito was awsome - not dramatic but just a boxing lesson.
What sould have been said is that Maywreather has never fought anybody in Winky's class!
Oh yeah, sorry, when I wrote "you" I didn't mean you personally, it was just a generic example. Damn it, I'm always getting myself into trouble doing that .

As for the Winky fight, I know what you're saying but we'll just have to wait and see how the weight-gain affects Floyd. He has a small frame even for 140 so it might be tough, but his conditioning is incredible so he has a good chance of working things out.

The Tito fight was one of the most impressive things I've seen in a while, though it's been well-known for years that Trinidad has many flaws in his game. Bernard killed him as well and DLH came close if he would have stopped dancing around in those last rounds. Thing is too that Floyd's handspeed beat Trinidad and he is quick enough to get in and out while avoiding Winky's jab. It would be a tough tough test, at any rate.

Floyd is that one-in-a-million talent who can transcend the weight classes.

I wouldn't expect him to beat Wright, but it wouldn't shock me to see him do it !

As for him "ducking" 140 lbers by facing Winky....do you know how ****** that sounds ?
Winky is better lb4lb. than all those 140lbers...& is 14lbs heavier !

      BOLD MOVE on Floyd's part.
Daring to be great, in an era where fighters are most concerned about just keeping what they have.

That's 14 pounds that Mayweather has to go up to. It would be interesting to see if he can keep his speed and agility at that weight. Imagine if he gains this weight and ends up looking like DLH when he went up to fight sturm. (body wise)

He doesn't have to come in at the the full 14lbs. I think we'll see Mayweather showing his full talent in this fight and will win a comfortable UD. If he beats Wright he easily surpasses the golden boy, félix trinidad, shane mosley, and probably lots of others as being the man of this era.

I agree with you in the sense that he would surpass these other guys but, you seem to be thinking as if he was to fight Winky it would be a breeze. Sure Mayweather's talented but, he's coming up to fight a guy who's a great technical fighter and Winky will be fighting at his natural weight or should I say the weight that he's more comfortable fighting in.

I don't think it would be a walk in the park for Floyd. Winky by decision or late KO. IMO, Winky would open to the smaller mayweather and land some big punches.

                Wright vs. Mayweather a Reality?
                by Andre Courtemanche
What may have initially sounded like a crazy boxing rumor could turn out true. Unnamed sources close to the situation are reporting that promoters Bob Arum, Gary Shaw and Don King are in deep negotiations to match former undisputed junior middleweight boss Ronald “Winky” Wright and WBC Super Lightweight king “Pretty Boy” Floyd Mayweather, possibly in late October or November of this year. The fight will reportedly take place at a contracted weight of 154 lbs. Wright was last seen dominating Felix “Tito” Trinidad. In Mayweather’s last outing, he turned in a near-flawless performance in stopping former champ Arturo Gatti. More details to follow.
HELL YEAH!!Floyd is going to take a big chance...but it might be worth it.

I hope everyone here doubts Mayweather but IF he wins I want everyone to give him with the respect he deserves.
