He got robbed a few times and when he did lose...he didnt train.....Edwin Valero said he didnt even work hard for the Pac fight. He had it all, so he lost his passion for the sport, plus his father pushed him since the age of 5... understandable. Again, I'm not even a fan, but he was just good......thoughts?
If you played sports before, you know that its a mental game staying disciplined is part of how good you are.

. please slap yourself TS. Let's see, Oscar lost all of his biggest fights. Two cotroversial decisions when he clearly lost to Sweet Pea and Sturm. Best win was beating Vargas in a comeback. Oscar is a good exciting fighter but doesn not "reck" everyone in their prime.

Oscar lost so many close fights, it's unbelieable. The Bernard Hopkins fight were a 100% loss, it really couldn't have gone any other way.

But a prime Oscar would beat the **** out of Pacquiao, give Mayweather trouble.
He had very close fights with Felix Trinidad and Shane Mosley also, a few adjustments there and he'd have a whole other resume. The Trinidad fight were so ******, why did he try to cruise it home?

I dont see why people even think Pacquiao could beat a prime DLH at 147? It amazes me really. DLH came from a era where there were tough tough fighters. He had everything going for him skillwise in his prime. a prime DLH beats Floyd, Pacquiao, and the current crop of WWs today no problem. You guys just watch his once a year fights and forget who this fighter was in his true prime. DLHs left hook would have had Pacquiao in deep **** come prime for prime. Same with everyone esle.

thats a fair point. Even an older Mosley was still on par with Cotto(it was a really close fight) and tore apart Margarito, those three were the creme of the crop at 147lbs a year or two ago.

Quartey was a very good fighter who I think might have beaten Mayweather, based not only on his excellent jab but his overall style with his tight guard.

Trinidad, while having a shaky chin, not only was a terror at WW but ate through 154lbs and even 160lbs. Its still pretty surprising to me that he was favored over a prime form of Hopkins back in 2001.

I just can't agree with this at all. De la Hoya was a very good fighter in his prime but there are still many fighters he would lose to. IMO Hearns would KO prime De la Hoya. I still just don't see De la Hoya beating PBF based on PBF being a better boxer, smarter and more athletic. That would always give De la Hoya problems.
