Floyd got the alphabet boys(IRS) demanding payments....his promotional company was just EVICTED for failure to pay rent....he missed a car payment sometime back and dude was getting sued for that....if you think this muh****a wont be broke in a decade then you need to lift his unborn kids from up over your eyes....LEGACY >>>>>>> MONEY.....Greats like Joe Louis and SRR may have been broke when they passed away....but they was RESPECTED by the boxing world....that RESPECT is STILL there today.....example, his money came and went but NOONE can take away the fact that Joe Louis defended the biggest title in boxing 25 successful times.....that record still stands today!!!.....thats legacy!!

But so is other sports. But you dont hear the fans of others sports brag and debate about how much they make, contract splits, etc. Only boxing fans and Thug rap fans arguing about how much their favorite boxer makes in one fight and how many records their favorite artist sold. Its ridiculous and childish if you ask me. My question is, are you getting any of that money? If you are, then you would keep it to yourself, be humble, and keep making that money.

To be fair, money and contracts is part of the discussion in all sports, not just boxing. How many times you hear about salary caps, and records contracts whenever you tune in to ESPN? I can't think of one time I watched Sports Center and didn't hear them discuss the latest contract in baseball, football, basketball, etc.

U can't cash out "legacy checks". It is priceless. It is not something u can get by just simply doing ur job. Rather,it is something one must earn by giving your all and excelling, not just simply doing the minimal work to collect a check. Sure, money can buy u security, but it sure as hell can't buy you legacy.

I think every prize fighter should have a bank account prepared for by their promoter. That way when the lights go out and the curtain drops they don't have to beg for money or do things that would diminer their fighter status. Like we regular people work and have an option of a 401k or a pension. Boxing should do the same.

yes its a job, but its also a sport. not all jobs are sports. im sure if you had the talent and skill set of mayweather, youd wanna use it against the best.

legacy and reputation is quite relevant especially in boxing.
