    I agree with you completely!

On the other hand in Nard's last few fights he has been slow early on he is throwing 15-25 punches a round...and it has been ok because guys like Oscar and Eastman were not pressing him or outthrowing him...

You had to figure when a fighter came in against Hopkins and threw more punches per round by a decent margin and mixed in some huge right hands and some flurries (note the right never landed flush but it didnt have too) that fighter would have a good chance at picking up those type of rounds...

this is what Taylor did, it was a weakness in the puppet masters game that Taylor was able to exploit.

Hopkins style is close to Ruiz. He is like a a thorned plant, fighting a cautious cat.

This fight was broken into two parts, each fighter owned a part of the fight and Hopkins fans are having a tough time excepting defeat because his part of the fight that he owned was done in more dominant fashion...

Unfortuantely he did not dominate a round in such a way where a 2 point round could be given therefore he got smashed for his very very cautious start...

Nard, even though he could have easily been given the decision has no one too blame but himself. Had he of started off faster he may have been able to KO Taylor but he smelled that right that Taylor was throwing with Bad intentions early on and he choose to play the first half of the fight totally safe.

It is going to be a very entertaining rematch where both fighters are going to have to make big adjustments, cant wait!

I can't wait to see it Sat night. After I've listened to just about every angle on this forum and from news sources and friends, it sounds like Hopkins just didn't expect Taylor to be around at the end of the fight and it came back to nip him in the butt.

I'm definitely going to order the rematch when I get back to school. Should be a classic...

Did Jermain entertain you more in the earlier rounds then Bernard Hopkins did in the later rounds? If the answer is yes, you my friend, are a complete moron.

Yeah it was good to see the better fighter actual show up, I admit that. Hopkins shoulda knocked the ****ing kid out, but he was a ****ing ***** and lolly-gagged all night. Fight mother****er that's what you get paid to do! I will give a skilled pugilist his credit if his boring antics are winning the fight (see Winky over Tito), but to sit back and expect your name and recognition to win you rounds while you aren't letting your hands go is asinine. Dude I could give a **** less who won this fight....but for people to being crying so loud is proposterous. It was not a robbery, fight coulda went either way. All I know is Taylor showed me more heart.

Taylor avg. 9 landed punches in rounds 1-8 Hopkins avg. 5 landed punches. If you wanna compare power punches, both had 4 rounds each where they threw more power punches than his opponent in rounds 1-8.

In rounds 9-12 it was total domination if you want to go by stats. Bernard 56 landed shots Taylor threw 23. 11 power shots by Taylor 47 by Bernard.

            Final stats Bernard 78/217 36% Taylor 50-189 26%

I guess you have to give Taylor the early rounds since he threw and missed more shots than Bernard. I thought i knew about boxing, i didnt know missed shots counted that much.

When neither man is doing ****, the round should go to the fighter setting the tone in my opinion.

oh thats how it is? I didnt know thats how it worked i thought the fighter who got hit with the most and hardest punches would win a fight.

No, they have a 10 point must system. And that's where B-Hop messed up because he screwed around in the earlier rounds. I think if we didn't have the 10 point must system and the judges watch the whole fight and then made their decision at the end of the fight Bernard should've won because he landed more effective punches. Hell, he landed more punches in general, but the slow start cost him is MW title.

but a lot of the early rounds Bernard countered and hit Taylor with more affective shots. I dont remember Taylor hitting a Bernard with any good shots except the one that was in the back of the head, and Lampley screamed hes hurt.

Well said, now I agree with that logic.
